Sauna Aid is proud to announce another successful collaboration with the Ukrainian charity fund, Repower, in support of Ukraine’s frontline medical professionals.
In early August, Repower brought 59 combat medics, evacuation crews, surgeons, and doctors from Ukraine to central Denmark for a 10-day recovery and rehabilitation program. These participants, who had been working for months under extreme pressure in combat zones, carried the heavy physical and psychological toll of war.
The program combined psychological recovery with physical activity and cultural enrichment. Ukrainian trauma specialists led daily group therapy sessions, creating a safe environment for medics to process their experiences and regain resilience.
Complementary activities included yoga, meditation, guided walks, and swimming, while cultural offerings ranged from museum visits and art therapy to clay sculpting—providing much-needed opportunities for reflection, creativity, and relief.
One of the highlights was the mobile wood-burning sauna provided by Sauna Fyn-Langeland, together with a team of Danish Sauna Aid volunteers coordinated by Kim P. Pedersen. Skilled sauna masters and bath attendants guided traditional ceremonies, cold plunges, and bodywork rituals, creating a safe, restorative space where participants could release tension and reconnect with their bodies.
