The Youth Peer Education Network
(Y-PEER) began in 2000 to share expertise and resources amongst the many disparate peer education efforts already operating on the ground - providing economies of scale through the creation of national networks and standardization of training materials. Y-PEER is a groundbreaking and comprehensive network of more than 500 non-profit organizations and governmental

institutions; its membership includes thousands of young people who work in the many areas surrounding sexual and reproductive health. The network established in more than 56 countries expanding by launching in other countries, consists of youth from Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, North and East Africa, and was recently initiated in Brazil. Y-PEER was established in Sudan on the year 2008 by United Nations Population Fund.
