🌾 AFIA's 1st Forum: Sudan’s Food Crisis – Key Insights & Prospects

On April 28-29, 2024, AFIA hosted its inaugural forum, bringing together policymakers, experts, and decision-makers to address the pressing food security crisis in Sudan. This milestone event aims to foster dialogue, share valuable insights, and propose evidence-based solutions for the future of Sudan’s food systems.
With over 70 participants and 6 insightful speakers, the forum addressed critical issues like food security indicators, forecasts, and potential solutions. Discussions centered on practical funding avenues for small-scale farmers and vulnerable communities, as well as strategic interventions to support sustainable food systems in Sudan.
The interactive Q&A sessions saw enthusiastic engagement, with attendees actively participating in deep discussions. Day two highlighted collaborative efforts to implement successful interventions that would directly benefit local communities and at-risk households.
Attendees appreciated the forum’s strategic focus and praised the informative presentations, calling for continued efforts to share knowledge and develop Sudan's food security landscape.
Together, we are paving the way for a resilient and food-secure Sudan.

🌾 منتدى عافية الأول: أزمة الغذاء في السودان - رؤى وآفاق جديدة 🌾
في الفترة من 28 إلى 29 أبريل 2024، نظمت عافية أولى منتدياتها، حيث جمعت بين صانعي السياسات والخبراء وأصحاب القرار لمناقشة الأزمة الملحة للأمن الغذائي في السودان. هدف المنتدى إلى تعزيز الحوار، تبادل الأفكار، وتقديم حلول مستندة إلى الأدلة لتحسين مستقبل نظم الغذاء في السودان.
بمشاركة أكثر من 70 شخصًا و6 متحدثين مميزين، ناقش المنتدى قضايا حيوية مثل مؤشرات الأمن الغذائي، التوقعات المستقبلية، والحلول الممكنة. ركزت المناقشات على طرق تمويل المزارعين الصغار والمجتمعات المعرضة للخطر، إلى جانب التدخلات الاستراتيجية لدعم نظم غذائية مستدامة.
شهدت جلسات الأسئلة والنقاشات تفاعلاً كبيرًا، حيث شارك الحاضرون بفاعلية في مناقشات معمقة. وركز اليوم الثاني على الجهود التعاونية لتطبيق التدخلات الناجحة التي ستعود بالنفع على المجتمعات المحلية والأسر الضعيفة.
أعرب الحاضرون عن تقديرهم لنهج المنتدى الاستراتيجي، وأشادوا بالعروض القيمة التي تناولت التحديات الحالية للأمن الغذائي في السودان، داعين إلى استمرار الجهود في مشاركة المعرفة وتطوير مشهد الأمن الغذائي في البلاد.
