Tropical Cyclone Maila lingered for days in the Solomon Sea, causing severe damage and devastation to infrastructure and villages in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands before slowly tracking west across Bougainville, destroying roads, buildings and homes.

Cyclone Maila has continued to bring damage and devastation to isolated islands in the Milne Bay Province of PNG. Families have lost everything. Communities are cut off.

RAWCS is appealing for funds to support Rotary clubs on the ground, helping individuals, families and communities rebuild and recover.

A donation to this project is an investment in community resilience and in the strength of an entire region.

🌿 PROJECT UPDATE 🌿

We’re pleased to share the progress of our landscaping work at the Birthing Center at Naha.

While we made strong progress with site clearing, ground preparation, and initial planting, we did experience a one-week delay due to weather conditions. Despite this setback, our team is back on site and continuing work to keep the project moving forward. 🌱

Our goal remains to create a clean, green, and welcoming environment for mothers, families, and staff. More improvements are on the way, and we look forward to sharing further updates soon.

🌱 Learning Through Growing 🌱
Our Nursery staff and students recently took part in a hands-on lesson on plant propagation, guided by our wonderful AVI volunteer 🌿
They explored the use of rooting hormones and learned different ways to grow new plants—from cuttings to other propagation techniques—discovering how to encourage strong and healthy root growth.
It was a fun and engaging session that sparked curiosity and excitement in our young learners. We’re grateful for the support and knowledge shared by our volunteer, helping our students connect with nature and build practical skills 💚🌻🌾
