Training Programme: 100 Steps Family Bible
Host Church: Church of the Nazarene, Kwailatutu
Participating Churches: Mage, Ailako, and Kwailatutu
Trainers: Barbara Ata and Banabas Siru
19 September 2026

A 100 Steps Family Bible training was successfully conducted for churches in the West Kwaio area, with the Church of the Nazarene at Kwaitatutu serving as the host church. The training brought together participants from the churches of Mage, Ailako, and Kwaitatutu.

The training was facilitated by Barbara Ata and Banabas Siru, who guided participants through the 100 Steps Family Bible material and its practical application.

Participants expressed strong enthusiasm and appreciation throughout the training. For many of them, this was the first training of its kind conducted in their area, making the programme a significant opportunity for strengthening Scripture engagement within the churches of West Kwaio.

The participating churches expressed their sincere appreciation to the Bible Society Solomon Islands Partnership (BSSP) for providing the 100 Steps Family Bible materials and making the training possible.

The enthusiasm generated by the training has created interest in extending the programme to other churches in Kwaio. Participants expressed their desire to have a similar training conducted among churches in East Kwaio.

Their request for a future training in East Kwaio reflects the growing interest in strengthening family and church engagement with Scripture.

BARU NATIONAL BIBLE COLLABORATION 2026 – HONIARA, SOLOMON ISLANDS

The BARU National Bible Collaboration 2026 was held in Honiara on 3–4 September, bringing together 30 participants representing 20 Christian ministries and organizations for two days of fellowship, learning, and collaboration.

Participants expressed appreciation for the gathering and emphasized the importance of setting aside organizational identities and working together, with Christ and His Word at the center of the Church’s mission in the Solomon Islands.

The keynote address by Lionel Dau, General Secretary of the Solomon Islands Christian Association (SICA), set the tone for the conference under the theme:

“Engaging God’s Word Together: One Word. One Purpose. One Mission.”

Using the BARU—the traditional war canoe—as a powerful picture of collaboration, Dau reminded participants that a canoe reaches its destination when its paddlers face the same direction and paddle together in rhythm. Likewise, churches and Christian ministries may have different gifts, resources, and approaches, but they share one destination: seeing lives, families, churches, and communities transformed through God’s Word for His glory.

His challenge captured the heart of the gathering:

“Let us move from conversation to commitment, commitment to partnership, and partnership to action.”

One Word. One Purpose. One Mission. One Destination.
Let us paddle together.
