New Year Message 2026 | Kindness That Reaches Home

As we step into 2026, let us be guided by kindness — a kindness that reaches beyond towns and cities and finds its way into our rural communities, where resilience, culture, and hope continue to live.

Let our kindness empower rural champions — the men and women who serve selflessly, often on a volunteer basis, giving their time, strength, and wisdom to uplift others. Their work matters, and it deserves recognition and support.

Let our kindness engage our future generation — encouraging young people to believe in themselves, to dream 💭 big and high, and to see a future filled with opportunity, purpose, and dignity. When we invest kindness in our youth, we plant seeds of leadership for tomorrow.

Let our kindness bring reassurance — a reminder to our rural people that they are never forgotten, that their voices matter, and that they are an essential part of our national story.

In 2026, let us give back — to our communities, our villages, and our homes. Let us share not only resources, but also time, encouragement, and hope. Together, we can make our people feel the joy of being blessed, valued, and connected.

May this year be one of service, unity, compassion, and action — where kindness becomes our legacy.

We were Joined by our Ngossi ward Cr Hon.Rex Konofilia, Sir Waitaben Tabusasi (Community elder) our youth groups and elders, police, churches, cultural groups and emerging leaders.

When Action Matters ❤️

Not sure if it was back in 2022 or 2023, but I remember seeing photos on Solomon Star News that really made me think 💭 — what can I do in just two weekends before these athletes head home to Makira?

So I made a quick post asking for donations of used running shoes… and amazing people showed up! 🙌

We collected over 20 pairs of running shoes, sports clothes, and some cash — all gifted to the athletes from Makira.

Action matters when something speaks to your heart. Should good intentions only be for our own people? I don’t think so — we’re all Solomon Islanders 🇸🇧

Change doesn’t have to be big. Even small acts of kindness can make a difference. 💚

Happy 73rd Anniversary, SIBC! 🇸🇧📻

Big thanks to the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation for 73 years of keeping our people informed, connected, and inspired.

Massive respect to everyone who has served and continues to serve in this iconic organisation—your work matters more than you know.

As a youth and community worker, I’m truly grateful for the times we’ve been invited to share our work. Knowing our stories are broadcast across the nation is something we don’t take for granted. Thank you for giving us that platform.

Keep doing the amazing work, and happy celebrations to all who wear (or have worn) the SIBC uniform with pride. 🎉👏

Major and his wife service in our country has come to an end today as they flew back to their country.
