GCF and UN Women are hosting a High-Level Convening on Women Empowerment in Cybersecurity in partnership with the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations during .​

The session will advance global dialogue and action toward strengthening global resilience by increasing women’s participation in cybersecurity and closing the talent gap. ​

Bringing together leaders from government, industry, academia, and international organizations, the event will explore the policies, partnerships, and capacity-building efforts needed to expand opportunities for women in the global cybersecurity workforce and ensure it operates at full strength.

The Women in Cyber Awards Ceremony will take place at UN Headquarters in New York on 22 September, celebrating the organizations advancing women's participation and leadership in cybersecurity.​

The Awards were launched this year with the support of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and UN Women as part of the Women Empowerment in Cybersecurity (WEC) initiative, which aims to strengthen global cyber resilience by contributing to efforts to increase women’s participation and close the talent gap.​
