Going for ‘Umrah and looking for ways to give sadaqah while you’re in Makkah? 🤍
Your time in Makkah can be an opportunity not only for worship, but also for giving and helping others. There are various charity organizations offering different programs and projects where you may be able to give sadaqah, sadaqah jariyah, or zakat, depending on the project and your eligibility.
Some of the charity projects you may come across include:
🦽 Wheelchairs – providing mobility assistance to people who need it.
💧 Drinking water – providing water for pilgrims during Hajj and ‘Umrah.
👧 Orphan sponsorship – supporting children who have lost one or both parents.
📖 Qur’an memorization – supporting students who are memorizing the Qur’an and related educational programs.
🕌 Da‘wah – supporting efforts to introduce Islam and provide Islamic education to non-Muslims.
🤍 Women in need – assistance for widows, separated/divorced women, and women facing financial difficulties.
💳 People in debt – helping eligible people who are struggling with debts they cannot repay.
🏥 Medical procedures – helping cover necessary medical treatment and procedures for people in need.
💰 Expiation (Kaffarah/Fidyah) – charitable payments made for certain religious obligations or missed duties, depending on the circumstances and applicable ruling.
🐑 Qurbani/Udhiyah – arranging the sacrifice and distribution of its meat to those who need it.
🕋 Badal ‘Umrah – arranging for an ‘Umrah to be performed on behalf of someone who is eligible for this according to Islamic rulings.
🧺 Food baskets – providing essential food items to families in need.
🌙 Iftar – providing meals for people who are fasting.

Some charity offices and organizations can be found around the ground floor and Basement 1 of Abraj Al Bait Clock Tower, as well as in/around Makkah Tower, Hilton Tower, Bin Dawood, and Safwa Tower.
You can also support our fellow Filipinos and Maranao students while you are in Makkah through online donations, including projects supporting students in need, education, community service, and da‘wah.

Before donating, make sure to verify that the organization is authorized and that the project is eligible for zakat if you intend to give zakat.
