PIN stands for "Pets in Need" which can be seen from two perspectives; people who are in need and looking for pets, and the pets themselves that are in need of our help. This group has been created to connect like minded individuals who care about animals' well being and have an animals' best interest at heart. This does not mean you need to be a pet owner; on the contrary, many people who don’t o

wn a pet are still very much concerned about the way animals are treated and the abuse that they are subjected to in different circumstances. Pet stores and certain Veterinary clinics (run and managed by individuals who are usually not present to ensure strict regulations and rules are implemented), are places that we too often witness animals being kept in terrible conditions. Many cats cramped in a small space, dogs placed in small wired-floor cages and water not always being present, are some of the many complaints I receive from those who have observed the ill-treatment of animals in such places. Apart from the abused animals that are kept in pet stores in the city, there has also been an increase of abandoned animals which are either left to fend for themselves on the streets, or left at Veterinary clinics without the interest of wanting to take them back. At least once in your life, you would have come across such an animal in your neighbourhood, compound, or at a pet store, clinic, or perhaps seen an animal being abused by someone you know, and you wish you could have done something about it. Unfortunately since there aren’t any laws that monitor the pet stores in the country or the privately owned veterinary clinics, WE are the ones who can stand up and make a change. Many members of PIN are active in their cause-and they frequently check pet stores to visit the animals and ensure water is available at all times, that food is given and to encourage the animal to be taken out of the cage to exercise and play with. WE are the change that the community would benefit from by spreading the information to make people aware that abusing an animal is not correct-from ANY perspective. Since there are far too many unwanted animals (usually the result of owners realizing the hard work and costs the pet can incur) or because they have outgrown their size and cuteness, or because the animal has suffered so much that they have no use for them any longer, those who can help should offer these animals a new lease on life and give them a new loving home. PIN believes in ADOPTION and NOT in selling the animals. Usually by selling a pet which is sadly too often seen as an object or possession, would be sold at a costly price and to the highest bidder. Adoption with a proper screening process, ensures the animals best interest is in mind first and foremost. These animals cannot speak for themselves. They cannot tell you the excruciating conditions they were put through or how they were unable to swallow food because their owner kept their collar so tight-or beat them into submission where they live through a life full of pain. They are relying on you-the well informed individual who can speak out for them-who can make a difference in trying to educate those who might not know any better and to help save the animal that lies at your mercy. Currently many different animals are being sheltered at Thaliah International Veterinary Clinic (located on Prince Sultan street), Pet Care ( located on Al-Semat Al-Taibah Street, -off Thalia Street) and at Jeddah Veterinary Clinic on Sary street, however there are also some animals kept at people's homes temporarily until an alternative loving home is offered. Some animals, are really in urgent need to be helped and saved and the reality is the ones who have been through a lot, are usually the ones not always wanted.. We will list various pictures of these animals and brief information about each one that needs to be adopted. Some would have been saved from horrible conditions at pets stores , off the streets, or those which have been 'housed' at the Veterinary Clinics.. We will do our best to spread the word and ensure that each animal will be housed with caring and loving owners who could offer them a better home, instead of resorting to abandoning them on the streets, killed or euthanized. This group benefits all animal lovers. If you have a pet or know someone who has one and needs to give it away, please feel free to post pictures and information about the animal and we will all support the cause in spreading the word and helping the animal/s get re-homed. By increasing people's awareness of the suffering these animals go through, we would hopefully enable the decrease of pet stores importing more and more pets and keeping them in terrible conditions, encourage the implementation of regulations in all pets stores and increase the adoption process of animals that are already in desperate need of care and a new home...

Hello Animal lovers! 🐱 🐈 🐢 🐩 πŸ• πŸˆβ€β¬› 🐦 🐾

We are aware that more and more groups, services and vet clinics exist in the kingdom now more than ever before related to helping animals and spreading animal awareness. πŸ™πŸΌ We want to make sure we are aware of as many of them as possible in order to share the information and resources with those who need advice on where / whom to contact for help.

But we need YOUR help to compile as much information and resources as possible.

Please comment here on the following:

The Animal rescue groups that you know of located in Jeddah, Makkah, Khobar, Riyadh, Taif and other cities in Saudi Arabia. (State their Facebook/ Instagram or website if possible).

Which vet clinics in the various cities in Saudi Arabia you know of. (It would be appreciated if you could state personal recommendations too).

Any animal shelters in the different cities in Saudi Arabia.

Any official pet sitting / pet hotel services. By β€œofficial” we mean that they are registered, have public testimonials / feedback with proper policies and procedures in place experienced with animals in their care.

Any pet grooming services either at fixed locations or via mobile vans.

Any other pet- related organisation or service such as animal transport, pet supplies stores or groups focusing on sharing missing / lost pets in the kingdom.

Your input is highly appreciated and will be a huge source of helpful information!

Thank you! πŸΎπŸ’•
