Did you know mangroves are a lifeline for millions of people around the world❓ 🌍

They protect us. They feed us. They sustain entire communities. 💚

Today is International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, here's why these trees matter more than you think.

1. Our first line of defense
Mangroves shield coastlines from storms, tsunamis and rising seas , nature's own storm wall.

2. Carbon superheroes
They store up to 5x more carbon than land forests locking away 1,000 TONNES per hectare!

3. A haven for biodiversity
Over 1,500 species , fish, birds, even tigers — call mangroves home for survival, shelter and breeding.

4. Nature's nursery
Mangroves nurse the fish and crustaceans that 1.5 BILLION people depend on for protein.

5. Livelihoods for millions
Fishing, tourism, food security — mangroves quietly power entire economies.

⚠️ But we've already lost 1/5 of the world's mangroves and nearly HALF of mangrove-dependent mammals could vanish soon.
Protecting mangroves = protecting biodiversity, food and our planet's future.
