“Communication is an important tool while doing advocacy work, and we sharpened it.”

Last week, the Initiative for Positive Change (IPC) joined and other in a 2-day workshop aimed at strengthening their capacity to communicate effectively, influence policy, and advance advocacy. From learning how evidence can inform policies to mastering digital storytelling, media engagement, and ethical communication. During the training, we reflected on what makes evidence policy relevant, how to craft clear messages for different audiences, and how stories, when authentic, respectful, and compelling and inspire action. We also unpacked the role of media in amplifying voices, correcting misinformation, and bridging research with real policy change. This is a continuous journey of building capacity, connecting with allies, and equipping ourselves to influence decisions that matter for evidence-based advocacy.

We are proud to have successfully conducted a hands-on training session for our beneficiaries in Ngoma District in the Mugesera sector on Vaseline and liquid soap production. 💧🧴

This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to promote self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods among marginalized youth in Ngoma District. By equipping individuals with practical skills, we’re not only creating income-generating opportunities but also fostering a spirit of innovation and resilience. 💪🏽

A big thank you to our dedicated trainers and enthusiastic participants who made this training a success! 🙌🏽
