AFF carries out the commitment of its mission to improve the de-humanizing conditions of extreme hunger and poverty among the poor and vulnerable groups especially children, youths, and families to cultivate the social, economic, cultural, and environmental conditions needed for communities to thrive. Our identity is at the heart of our mission and operations. We welcome as a part of our partners,
people of all faiths and secular traditions who share our values and our commitment to serving those in need. AFF implements its programs through partnerships with the private sector, non-governmental organizations including the faith-based organizations, and community entities to create lasting solutions for maximum impact and sustainability. AFF’s projects currently include:
• Education – We promote access to quality education for the most vulnerable and marginalized children from early age. Our education projects encompass a range of activities, including take-home food rations to parents of AFF sponsored students to combat hunger and malnutrition; primary and secondary education in formal setting. Through take-home students feeding, quality education, and improved livelihoods of vulnerable families, AFF is committed to building opportunities among those we serve.
• Health – We help to strengthen poor nutrition and health-care for the most vulnerable through support to child wellbeing and protection. AFF promotes child nutrition strengthening and parenting skills; hygiene kits and prevention information; gender-based violence prevention and response; anti-adolescent and teenage pregnancy education for young girls; anti-drugs education for children; life skills education for children and early childhood development. At the heart of AFF’s approach is a management mechanism to ensure effective service delivery across these areas of intervention.
• Social Protection – We support youth and women living in extreme poverty with the necessary knowledge, strong life skills and livelihood opportunities. Our approach provides for youth/women-friendly and youth/women-serving systems that prepare, protect and allow them to participate in the decisions about their futures; to lead their own development and contribute to long-term sustainable change to communities.
