On 15 September 2026, Umurunga Family Organisation officially launched the Inzozi Ze Initiative in Kayonza District, a long-term initiative developed under our pillars of Youth Mental Health and Youth Empowerment.

Inzozi Ze was created from a simple but powerful belief: when we help a child stay in school, we are not only supporting their education we are also investing in their confidence, mental well-being, resilience, and future. The initiative focuses on children whose education is affected by financial challenges, particularly those who have already dropped out of school or are at risk of discontinuing their education.

During the launch at Ecole Primary Gisubizo, we reached 30 children. Among them, 20 children from P3, P4 and P5 were enrolled in the long-term Inzozi Ze support program, while 10 additional children from vulnerable families received educational materials. The children received essential school support including school fees, notebooks, school bags, pens, mathematical sets, and other educational necessities. While their parents received mentorship on the Importance of education in their children's Future.

But for us, this is only the beginning. Inzozi Ze is not designed to be a one-day intervention. Umurunga Family Organisation will continue following the 20 children enrolled in the initiative, engaging with their families, monitoring their educational journey, and providing mentorship and encouragement along the way. Our goal is to help them remain in school, believe in themselves, develop their potential, and eventually become educated, productive, and self-reliant young people who can contribute positively to society.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to making the launch possible, and to the parents, children, school leadership, local leaders, and partners who joined us on this important day.

Every child has a dream.
Every dream deserves an opportunity. And most of the time supporting a child's education is the first step toward protecting that dream.

Umurunga family is launching Inzozi Ze Initiative dedicated to vulnerable students from Kayonza aims to support their education, this initiative is rooted under our Pillars of Youth Mental health and Youth Empowerment.

The Umurunga family believes that, education is key support of youth Mental health and wellbeing, also it is one of the keys of Youth Empowerment and Self reliant.

Umurunga family is calling individuals, organisations, communities and foundations to collaborate and support this initiative both financial and mentoring.

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, dream, and build a healthy future. But the future we want to see in our youth must be prepared for today.

That is the heart of this initiative by Umurunga Family, implemented under our Youth Mental Health pillar. We believe that building a mentally healthy generation starts in childhood, and education is one of the strongest foundations we can provide.

When a child is supported to stay in school, develop knowledge, build confidence, and see possibilities for their future, we are doing more than helping them with education we are helping shape the kind of young person they can become tomorrow.

Umurunga family Education support Initiative.

This initiative focuses on children in Primary 4 and a few in Primary 5, particularly those who have dropped out of school or are struggling to remain in school because of financial challenges within their families. Through educational support, encouragement, and continued follow-up, we want to help these children overcome barriers today while creating stronger foundations for their mental well-being, resilience, independence, and future empowerment. We are not only helping a child today; we are building the youth we want to see tomorrow.

This initiative will begin on 15 September 2026 at GS Mukarange Catholic School in Kayonza, and it is intended to grow into a long-term initiative that reaches more vulnerable children in the years ahead.

We invite individuals, organizations, institutions, donors, and collaborators who share our vision for a healthier, educated, and empowered generation to join us in this journey. Your contribution whether through financial support, educational materials, expertise, mentorship, or collaboration can help keep a child connected to education and bring us one step closer to the future we envision.

Together, let us invest in children today, nurture healthy minds, and build a stronger generation for tomorrow.

Umurunga Family 23 may we came together for a deeply meaningful gathering to celebrate an incredible milestone our 2nd Anniversary! Over the past two years, our journey has been defined by growth, resilience, and community impact. This gathering was a beautiful opportunity to pause, reflect on our shared milestones, and celebrate how far we have come together.
​But it wasn't just about looking back. It was also a powerful moment to look forward. We used this time to realign with our core values, renew our commitments, and reinforce our vision for the future.
​As we step into our third year, we are more energized than ever to empower our youth, foster impactful programs and drive positive change in our community.

Umurunga Family youth had the privilege of being hosted by Never Again Rwanda in a meaningful and inspiring dialogue on Positive Masculinity. The session provided valuable lessons on the importance of respect, equality, accountability, emotional expression, and shared responsibility in building stronger communities and healthier relationships.

We are grateful for this enriching opportunity that continues to empower our youth with values that promote peace, understanding, and responsible leadership. Together, we grow and shape a better future.

Last Thursday, Umurunga Family successfully hosted another impactful edition of our Weekly Discussion Program, bringing young people together for an engaging online conversation centered on Mental Health & Resilience.
The session created a safe and interactive space where participants openly shared thoughts, experiences, and perspectives on the realities of mental health among youth today. Through meaningful discussions and mutual encouragement, we explored the importance of emotional well-being, resilience, and supporting one another in difficult moments.
Our speaker particularly emphasized the growing importance of mental health awareness in youth, reminding us that healing begins when conversations are no longer kept silent. As young people continue to face academic, social, and personal pressures, creating supportive communities and encouraging open dialogue remains essential.
At Umurunga Family, we believe that conversations can heal, empower, and transform lives. We remain committed to building a generation that values peace, resilience, empathy, and mental wellness.
