Today Rugezi Ornithology Center team has privilege to start baseline survey at one of Iconic birding hotspot.

The survey aims to develop scientific understanding of avaifouna in this wetlands and how local community are interconnected with biodiversity extisting in there. It will focus on few taxa Birds and plants as well as socioeconomic.

It was great encounter to spot -faced (Ptilopsis granti) and Square-tailed (Caprimulgus fossii). More interesting species are expected to be documented during this , these data will be use for various decisions measures.

Today at Umurava Chair Kibihekane Tvet School 2019 through our Conversation education program our team inspired about biodiversity conservation and avitourism.

This event initiate birding club which aimed to share skills and knowledge on weekly basis as of promoting citizen science to prepare these young generation.

This New club start with 26 members will start learn birds from the beginning. From our recent equipment grants donated by Binoculars4charity 3 binoculars will be donated to this new club to help in their progressive learning as they will needing more additional birding equipment include binoculars, field guide books, scopts and lassepointers . Our team facilitate the club through workshop and outings to increase their experience.

Through our Conversation education program this Week our team inspired high school students from Muhabura Integreted Polytechnic College about biodiversity conservation.

This event aimed to share skills and knowledge as well as inspire young generation for their contribution to conservation and develop knowledge that will equip them with necessary skills to become future tourism professional in Avi tourism.

As NEW members have joined MIPC Birdwatching Club which operate weekly in school after class to learn birds! 23 members are in need of additional birding equipment include binoculars, field guide books, scopts and lassepointers .
