With a support from and Rwanda, On 22 August, Bold Women Rwanda brought together 100 teenage mothers in Ntarama sector, Bugesera district for a leadership and capacity-building session under the theme “Know Your Rights, Find Your Voice, Lead Change.”

The session focused on leadership, communication, rights awareness, rights-based advocacy, and collective action, giving teenage mothers practical space to identify issues affecting them, develop advocacy messages, and strengthen peer support.

Teenage mothers are not passive beneficiaries. “They are rights holders, leaders, and agents of change.”

But did you ask what pushed her there?

Poverty. Unequal power. Lack of opportunities. And, in some cases, older people exploiting vulnerability by offering what she lacks in exchange for trust or attention.

Then society blames her.

Listen to her story. Question the system.
