What can 500 RWF become when a woman believes in her own progress? 🧡🌱

She started saving just 500 RWF through her MCDC VSLA group. Gradually, she increased her savings to 1,000 RWF, then 2,000 RWF—and sometimes even 6,000 RWF, depending on her income.

Today, her livestock and vegetable farming activities are growing, and she says she no longer faces the financial challenges she once did. 🐄🥬🌾

Her journey is a reminder that small savings, collective support, and determination can create bigger possibilities.

Through MCDC’s savings group, she turned a loan into pig farming, reinvested her profits into her grocery business, and gained greater financial independence.

MCDC VSLA groups are one of the ways of addressing these challenges—helping girls develop saving habits, financial literacy, confidence, teamwork, and responsibility, while creating a safe space to learn and support one another.
