🌍 Celebrating International Women’s Day through Sports and Community Dialogue ⚽👩‍🦰

Today, Kabuga Peace Club organized a community women’s soccer match to celebrate International Women’s Day under the global theme:
“Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls.”

The activity brought together women from the community to promote women’s participation in sports, unity, and gender equality. The match started with a few men joining the first part of the game to symbolize that men stand with women and support their empowerment. In the second half, the men stepped out so that a full team of women players could proudly celebrate their day on the field.

During the event, the Assistant Head of Youth shared encouraging remarks highlighting the importance of respecting women's rights and recognizing their contribution to community development. We also welcomed a married man from the community who emphasized that women are a great engine for the development of our country and encouraged greater support for women in leadership.

The activity also highlighted some challenges still faced in rural communities, including stereotypes that discourage women from wearing sports clothing such as shorts. Through activities like this, we continue to raise awareness that sports participation is a right and an opportunity for empowerment.

We sincerely thank for supporting this activity by providing drinking water for the participants and for being a strong partner in supporting community initiatives.

Together, we continue to promote peace, equality, and empowerment in our communities.

🌿 Building Peace Through Nonviolent Communication 🌿

Yesterday, Kabuga Peace Club organized a community session on Nonviolent Communication (NVC), focusing on the four key components:

🔹 Observation
🔹 Feeling
🔹 Need
🔹 Request

The event was well attended by community members, including Sector and Cell leaders. It was inspiring to witness open dialogue about how peaceful communication can strengthen families, reduce conflict, and build trust.

As youth committed to peacebuilding, we believe that change begins with how we speak and listen to one another.

Together, we are building a culture of understanding and nonviolence in our community.

Kabuga Peace Club (KPC) is preparing a powerful Forum Theatre performance to be presented at a local school.
📌 Theme: Teenage pregnancy should not lead to school dropout.
Through drama, dialogue, and active community participation, our youth including teen mothers and vulnerable young people are using theatre as a voice for awareness, empowerment, and transformation.
We believe every girl deserves education, dignity, and a second chance. Together, we can break barriers and build a future where circumstances never define destiny.
Special appreciation to the unstoppable spirit of youth empowerment that drives our mission forward.

We are grateful to share that girls from Kabuga Peace Club have traveled from Bugesera District to participate in a 10-day chicken keeping training provided by ABSOL.

This training is an important opportunity to equip young women with practical skills, promote self-reliance, and strengthen sustainable livelihoods. We deeply appreciate ABSOL’s support and commitment to empowering girls through hands-on, skills-based training.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this experience in our community.

🌱 Building Peace Through Self-Reliance | Kabuga Peace Club (KPC)

Today marks an important milestone for Kabuga Peace Club as we officially begin our journey toward self-reliance through agriculture.

In Karama Sector, Nyagatare District, our youth team came together to prepare land for maize farming—a community-led initiative that will sustain our peacebuilding work beyond donor support. We also learned how to produce organic manure using banana leaves and natural plant materials, strengthening both environmental responsibility and agricultural skills.

This initiative is more than farming. It is about:
• Creating economic dignity for youth
• Supporting peacebuilding through shared work and responsibility
• Ensuring long-term sustainability for Forum Theatre and community dialogue activities

We are deeply grateful to the friends and mentors who have believed in our vision and encouraged locally led solutions. Your support continues to plant seeds of hope and resilience 🌱

This is just the beginning. We will continue to share updates as we plant, grow, and build peace from the ground up.

🌟 Leadership in Action: Meet Egide! 🌟

At Kabuga Peace Club, we don’t just talk about peace we build it through hard work and self-reliance.

Egide is a powerful example of the KPC spirit. Whether he is on our community maize farm or performing in Forum Theatre, he is proving that Rwandan youth are ready to lead.

🌱 The Goal: We use our harvest to fund vocational training for our members. 🎭 The Impact: Empowering youth like Egide to become self-reliant professionals and peacebuilders.

We are proud of your discipline, Egide! Together, we are planting peace and growing a future. 🇷🇼✨

What You See vs. What We Are Building 🧱✨

Often, people only see the performance on the stage the dance, the theatre, and the applause. But at Kabuga Peace Club, the most important work happens "under the water."

While we prepare for a massive 2026, our team has been working hard on: ✅ Official Government Endorsements 🇷🇼 ✅ International Research & Academic Mentorship 🎓 ✅ Strategic Partnerships for our Piglet Pass-on Scheme with partners like

To those who see the vision: The foundation is set. To our members who stay consistent: Your harvest is coming. We are moving from theory to practice, and from practice to prosperity.
