FEMICIDE
A pregnant woman, murdered with her child in her arms.
A broken life, a broken childhood, a silence that envelops us again.

📣 Violence against women is not an exception. It is a system.
A system that ignores the signals, that always asks us to "prove", to be "more careful", "less vulnerable". A system that does not stop the criminals, but blames the victims.

💬 Romanian Women's Lobby demands real measures:
– permanent funding for shelters and emergency services,
- sustainable funding for non-governmental organizations that provide prevention, protection and support for women and children victims of violence
– immediate protection, not legal formalities,
– education for prevention and responsibility.

🔴 Women no longer have to be killed to be taken seriously.
🔴 Children should not witness their mother's last cry.
🔴 We want laws that protect us, we don't want to be pitied.

We don't forget. We don't forgive. We don't remain silent.

I was telling you that our bilateral initiative started with them, our victors, those who went through fear and worry, violence and suffering, but managed to shake off the black veil that enveloped their lives. Now, their story is in print, and we will be able to read it both in printed format in Romanian and English, and online, in the shortest possible time.

We let you take a look at the words written on paper by the 12 women with whom we had the honor of completing this book, which we will find either under pseudonyms or under their real names, as they wished to communicate with the general public.

“Today, I look back on those years with pain, but also with gratitude. Because, beyond the suffering, they taught me who I really am. And they showed me that no one, ever, can take away my power to decide my fate. … I have built a safe haven for my heart”

“I am grateful for everything I have experienced, for the hard lessons I have learned, for the strength to get up and move forward. It is not easy, but I know that every step I take now is one towards a better future for me and my children.”

“Finally, I want to tell all women to seek help without hesitation. We know how hard it is to go through domestic violence, how much it makes you feel helpless and hopeless. Call the authorities whenever necessary. Stop letting them take your freedom. You and your children deserve more. You deserve life.”

“What makes the difference between a success story and one left in the shadow of time is Perspective! The way we relate to what is happening to us is the most important thing. We may go through a "tough time" or, more accurately, a disaster - but we are heroes only if we survive and rise again, again and again.”

“We are no longer mere victims of fate, but we take the reins of our lives into our own hands. And we do not wait for a prince on a white horse to save us. We save ourselves.”

“We become the heroes of our own story. My story is not just about loss or pain; it is about transformation, about the courage to move forward, and about the beauty found in humanity. And I know now, without a doubt, that every experience was necessary to become the person I am today - at peace, grateful, and ready to live with an open heart.”

“I realized that in all this time I had learned to transform pain into strength, fear into courage, and loss into gratitude. Every day is a victory, every smile of mine and my little girl is proof that I managed to come out of the darkness and build a new life!”

Vă povesteam că inițiativa noastră bilaterală a pornit de la ele, învingătoarele noastre, cele care au trecut prin frică și îngrijorare, violență și suferință, însă au reușit să se scuture de vălul negru ce le înfășura viața. Iată, acum, povestea lor este la tipar, și o vom putea citi atât în format printat în limba română și engleză, cât și online, în cel mai scurt timp.

Vă lăsăm să aruncați o privire peste cuvintele așternute pe hârtie de către cele 12 femei cu care am avut onoarea să finalizăm această carte, pe care le vom regăsi fie sub pseudonim, fie sub numele lor reale, după cm au dorit să comunice cu publicul larg.

“Astăzi, privesc înapoi la acei ani cu durere, dar și cu recunoștință. Pentru că, dincolo de suferință, m-au învățat cine sunt cu adevărat. Și mi-au arătat că nimeni, vreodată, nu-mi poate lua puterea de a-mi decide soarta. … Am construit un refugiu sigur pentru inima mea”

“Sunt recunoscătoare pentru tot ceea ce am experimentat, pentru lecțiile grele pe care le-am învățat, pentru puterea de a mă ridica și de a merge înainte. Nu este ușor, dar știu că fiecare pas pe care îl fac acum este unul către un viitor mai bun pentru mine și copiii mei.”

“În cele din urmă, vreau să le spun tuturor femeilor să caute ajutor fără ezitare. Știm cât de greu este să treci prin violența domestică, cât de mult te face să te simți neputincios și fără speranță. Sunați autoritățile ori de câte ori este necesar. Nu-i mai lăsa să-ți ia libertatea. Tu și copiii tăi meritați mai mult. Meriți viața.”

“Ceea ce face diferența între o poveste de succes și una lăsată în umbra timpului este Perspectiva! Modul în care ne raportăm la ceea ce ni se întâmplă este cel mai important lucru. Putem trece printr-o "perioadă dificilă" sau, mai frumos spus, un dezastru - dar suntem eroi doar dacă supraviețuim și ne ridicăm din nou, din nou și din nou.”

“Nu mai suntem simple victime ale sorții, ci luăm frâiele vieții noastre în propriile mâini. Și nu așteptăm ca un prinț pe un cal alb să ne salveze. Ne salvăm pe noi înșine.”

“Devenim eroii propriei noastre povești. Povestea mea nu este doar despre pierdere sau durere; este despre transformare, despre curajul de a merge mai departe și despre frumusețea găsită în umanitate. Și știu acum, fără îndoială, că fiecare experiență a fost necesară pentru a deveni persoana care sunt astăzi – în pace, recunoscătoare și gata să trăiesc cu inima deschisă.”

“Mi-am dat seama că în tot acest timp am învățat să transform durerea în putere, frica în curaj și pierderea în recunoștință. Fiecare zi este o victorie, fiecare zâmbet al meu și al fetiței mele este dovada că am reușit să ies din întuneric și să-mi construiesc o nouă viață!”
