A broken life, a broken childhood, a silence that envelops us again.

๐Ÿ“ฃ Violence against women is not an exception. It is a system.
A system that ignores the signals, that always asks us to "prove", to be "more careful", "less vulnerable". A system that does not stop the criminals, but blames the victims.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Romanian Women's Lobby demands real measures:
โ€“ permanent funding for shelters and emergency services,
- sustainable funding for non-governmental organizations that provide prevention, protection and support for women and children victims of violence
โ€“ immediate protection, not legal formalities,
โ€“ education for prevention and responsibility.

๐Ÿ”ด Women no longer have to be killed to be taken seriously.
๐Ÿ”ด Children should not witness their mother's last cry.
๐Ÿ”ด We want laws that protect us, we don't want to be pitied.

I was telling you that our bilateral initiative started with them, our victors, those who went through fear and worry, violence and suffering, but managed to shake off the black veil that enveloped their lives. Now, their story is in print, and we will be able to read it both in printed format in Romanian and English, and online, in the shortest possible time.

We let you take a look at the words written on paper by the 12 women with whom we had the honor of completing this book, which we will find either under pseudonyms or under their real names, as they wished to communicate with the general public.

โ€œToday, I look back on those years with pain, but also with gratitude. Because, beyond the suffering, they taught me who I really am. And they showed me that no one, ever, can take away my power to decide my fate. โ€ฆ I have built a safe haven for my heartโ€

โ€œI am grateful for everything I have experienced, for the hard lessons I have learned, for the strength to get up and move forward. It is not easy, but I know that every step I take now is one towards a better future for me and my children.โ€

โ€œFinally, I want to tell all women to seek help without hesitation. We know how hard it is to go through domestic violence, how much it makes you feel helpless and hopeless. Call the authorities whenever necessary. Stop letting them take your freedom. You and your children deserve more. You deserve life.โ€

โ€œWhat makes the difference between a success story and one left in the shadow of time is Perspective! The way we relate to what is happening to us is the most important thing. We may go through a "tough time" or, more accurately, a disaster - but we are heroes only if we survive and rise again, again and again.โ€

โ€œWe are no longer mere victims of fate, but we take the reins of our lives into our own hands. And we do not wait for a prince on a white horse to save us. We save ourselves.โ€

โ€œWe become the heroes of our own story. My story is not just about loss or pain; it is about transformation, about the courage to move forward, and about the beauty found in humanity. And I know now, without a doubt, that every experience was necessary to become the person I am today - at peace, grateful, and ready to live with an open heart.โ€

โ€œI realized that in all this time I had learned to transform pain into strength, fear into courage, and loss into gratitude. Every day is a victory, every smile of mine and my little girl is proof that I managed to come out of the darkness and build a new life!โ€

โ€œAstฤƒzi, privesc รฎnapoi la acei ani cu durere, dar ศ™i cu recunoศ™tinศ›ฤƒ. Pentru cฤƒ, dincolo de suferinศ›ฤƒ, m-au รฎnvฤƒศ›at cine sunt cu adevฤƒrat. ศ˜i mi-au arฤƒtat cฤƒ nimeni, vreodatฤƒ, nu-mi poate lua puterea de a-mi decide soarta. โ€ฆ Am construit un refugiu sigur pentru inima meaโ€

โ€œSunt recunoscฤƒtoare pentru tot ceea ce am experimentat, pentru lecศ›iile grele pe care le-am รฎnvฤƒศ›at, pentru puterea de a mฤƒ ridica ศ™i de a merge รฎnainte. Nu este uศ™or, dar ศ™tiu cฤƒ fiecare pas pe care รฎl fac acum este unul cฤƒtre un viitor mai bun pentru mine ศ™i copiii mei.โ€

โ€œรŽn cele din urmฤƒ, vreau sฤƒ le spun tuturor femeilor sฤƒ caute ajutor fฤƒrฤƒ ezitare. ศ˜tim cรขt de greu este sฤƒ treci prin violenศ›a domesticฤƒ, cรขt de mult te face sฤƒ te simศ›i neputincios ศ™i fฤƒrฤƒ speranศ›ฤƒ. โ€œCeea ce face diferenศ›a รฎntre o poveste de succes ศ™i una lฤƒsatฤƒ รฎn umbra timpului este Perspectiva! Modul รฎn care ne raportฤƒm la ceea ce ni se รฎntรขmplฤƒ este cel mai important lucru. Putem trece printr-o "perioadฤƒ dificilฤƒ" sau, mai frumos spus, un dezastru - dar suntem eroi doar dacฤƒ supravieศ›uim ศ™i ne ridicฤƒm din nou, din nou ศ™i din nou.โ€

โ€œNu mai suntem simple victime ale sorศ›ii, ci luฤƒm frรขiele vieศ›ii noastre รฎn propriile mรขini. ศ˜i nu aศ™teptฤƒm ca un prinศ› pe un cal alb sฤƒ ne salveze. Ne salvฤƒm pe noi รฎnศ™ine.โ€

โ€œDevenim eroii propriei noastre poveศ™ti. Iaศ™i, Romania/Oslo, Norway - 14.02.2025

February 2025 announces a Valentineโ€™s Day surprise in the form of an emotional treasure chest that can be offered to hearts that are wounded or on the path to healing just before the Dragobete holiday. The Community Safety and Mediation Center Foundation in partnership with Foreningen Hedda Norway announces the artistic event What Happened to the Heart? The show is part of the bilateral initiative Emotional Treasure Box - What Happened to the Heart, a theater, music and dance show, born from the stories of those who have gone through violence.

The event will take place at the National Athenaeum in Iaศ™i (Radu Beligan Hall), Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, participation is by invitation only. About the bilateral initiative:
Along with artists, professionals, dreamers and bearers of the symbol of the heart and the sword that dispels darkness and brings light, we created a chest of cultural products brought together under the name Emotional Treasure Box - What Happened to the Heart, inspired by the latest musical album by Aurora Asknes, the Norwegian singer-songwriter.

We hope to have you with us on this adventure, discovering the steps taken towards light and courage alongside our fighters whose true stories formed the basis of the theater, dance and visual art scenario mixed into a final product of emotions grouped in our treasure box. The united teams of the two organizations invite you to answer the question: What Happened to the Heart?

Ce face echipa cand mai este doar o saptamana pana la premiera? se ascunde in culise, isi face inca un stoc de servetele pentru sters lacrimile, inchide ochii si vizualizeaza o sala plina de inimi batand la unison alaturi de actorii nostri plini de talent. O sedinta de fotografii pentru caietul program, si suntem gata pentru o saptamana plina de repetitii generale, insirate intre Valentine's Day si Dragobete. Curand aterizeaza alaturi de noi si echipa norvegiana (le-am pregatit si lor servetele de sters lacrimile, ca nu suntem partinitori).

Si deja numaram: O zi inimoasa, doua zile inimoase, trei zile inimoase.....
.....................

What does the team do when there is only one week left until the premiere? they hide backstage, stock up on tissues to wipe away their tears, close their eyes and visualize a room full of hearts beating in unison alongside our talented actors. A photoshoot for the program book, and we are ready for a week full of final rehearsals, strung together between Valentine's Day and Dragobete. Soon the Norwegian team will land with us (we also prepared tissues to wipe away their tears, because we are not biased).

And we are already counting: One heartfelt day, two heartfelt days, three heartfelt days.....
