Fred and Barney were taken in on Saturday by Save the Dog. Two healthy, lively and energetic little puppies who seemed ready to leave all the bad behind and find their family. They brought us smiles and hope that, at least this time, things will go well.
But we don't know how it is that fate seems to want it that way... We don't know who to blame anymore, fate, bad luck or the cruel reality that every rescue goes through. Almost all the puppies we take in end up getting sick and going through hard times immediately after the rescue.
Today, Fred and Barney tested positive for giardia and babesiosis, only Barney. Our joy ended in just a few days and a fight begins again. There are days of hospitalization, treatments, tests, check-ups and investments that we have to make for them, because when we save a soul we assume any obstacle that appears on the way.
It is emotionally and financially difficult to go through such moments at every rescue, but we cannot give up on them. Fred and Barney deserve the chance at a normal life, without suffering, without fear and without disease.
We need your help to continue their treatments and investigations. Any donation, no matter how small, matters enormously for these two puppies. And if you cannot donate, a distribution also helps us enormously.
