Notable Nobles:

Every fez tells a story. Some belong to men whose contributions have left an enduring mark on history.

Silent film comedian Harold Lloyd didn't just wear the fez – he led the entire fraternity, serving as Imperial Potentate of Shriners International for the 1949–1950 term, the first actor ever elected to the organization's highest position. A noble of Al Malaikah Shriners, Lloyd later became president and chairman of the Board of Trustees of Shriners Children’s in the 1960s, devoting the final decades of his life to the cause.

πŸ₯ Club & Unit Spotlight: El Riad Fife and Drum Corps

For more than 60 years, the El Riad Shrine Fife and Drum Corps has combined tradition, fellowship, and philanthropy as the only unit of its kind within Shriners International.

Known for their patriotic uniforms and parade appearances, this family-oriented group has made an impact beyond the parade route. Bruce Norton shares, "We are 100% focused on our great philanthropy." Over the past decade, the unit has raised funds for El Riad Shriners and Shriners Children's Twin Cities.

They're also finding creative ways to grow membership.

"A couple of our younger members got their entire softball team to join the Shriners and our unit," Bruce said. Their popular rush parties bring prospective members and families together, creating a welcoming environment to learn about the fraternity and build lasting friendships.

With 55 active members and a strong tradition of service, the El Riad Fife and Drum reflect the power of brotherhood, community involvement, and philanthropy.
