Think EU regulation is boring?

Then you probably haven’t looked at how it decides where money flows, which companies grow, and who gets pushed out of the market.

That’s the idea behind the CEE Perspective Student Challenge 2026.

Students are invited to analyse how DORA, CSRD or SFDR shape real business decisions across Central and Eastern Europe, and turn regulation into something you can actually measure, question, and debate.

Deadline: 28 February 2026

Thank you to everyone who joined today’s CEE Perspective webinar and helped make the discussion both lively and practical.

A special thanks to Prof. Anita Pavković for a clear and structured walkthrough of securitization in today’s European context, from market realities to the regulatory landscape.

If you couldn’t attend live or would like to revisit the key points, the presentation slides are now available for download via the following link on our website:https://ceeperspective.eu/storage/media-library/resources/securitization-game-changer-for-european-financial-market_new-version-1.pdf

🧩 📊January is securitization month at CEE Perspective.

Before the webinar next week, we are spending time on something that is often skipped: the basics. Not structures or labels, but the people involved and the roles they actually play in a transaction.

Securitization only works when several parties with very different objectives are willing to sign up to the same set of cash flows and risks. That balance is easy to underestimate and hard to get right.

The carousel we are sharing this week looks at who sits around the table and why their perspective matters. It is a useful starting point if you want to follow the debate with more precision and fewer assumptions.

More on the mechanics next week, live. Don't forget to register: https://ceeperspective.eu/events/webinar-on-securitization

🎓 Know someone who enjoys digging into how rules actually change markets?

The CEE Perspective Student Challenge 2026 is open, and we’re looking for students who want to explore how European financial regulation reshapes competition across Central and Eastern Europe.

The task is simple in form, demanding in substance. Choose one CEE market and look closely at how DORA, CSRD, or SFDR affects real decisions by firms. Where does regulation change behaviour. Where does it shift competitive balance. And who adapts better than others.

Whether you come from economics, law, business, data, or policy, this is about analysing how firms respond when regulation moves from paper to practice, and who manages that shift better than others.

If this sounds like someone you know, share it with them. Universities, study groups, classmates, supervisors, all welcome.

🗓 Deadline: 28 February 2026
🏆 €500 merit scholarship plus mentoring, publication, and conference participation

Full details and submission guidelines are available on the CEE Perspective website: https://ceeperspective.eu/contests/cee-perspective-student-challenge-2026

🎓 Applications are now open for the CEE Perspective Student Challenge 2026.

This year, we’re inviting students to take a closer look at how regulation shapes competition in Central and Eastern Europe and to ask a sharper question: who actually gains an edge by adapting faster, smarter, and earlier?

If you’re curious about European financial regulation, market dynamics, and how strategy plays out in real regulatory environments, this challenge is for you. It’s a chance to test your analytical thinking on real-world developments and put your ideas in front of people who work at the intersection of policy, finance, and strategy.

🗓 Deadline: 28 February 2026
🏆 Prize: €500 + additional perks

Take a look, choose your market, and start building your case.

✨🎉If 2025 taught us anything, it’s that meaning doesn’t come from the moments designed to be remembered. It comes from the steady accumulation of voices, exchanges, and shared attention that, over time, shaped what the CEE Perspective became.

Over the past year, the community around the CEE Perspective has continued to widen and deepen across Central and Eastern Europe. Professors challenged assumptions in our discussions, policymakers brought real constraints and trade-offs into the room, students pushed conversations in unexpected directions, and partners helped turn ideas into concrete initiatives. Some engagements were public and visible, others happened quietly, over time, but all of them shaped the work.

What emerged was not momentum driven by scale, but by continuity. By conversations that did not end when an event closed. By trust that grew between institutions that do not always speak the same language. By a shared understanding that regional cooperation, when it is built carefully, can be practical, credible, and forward-looking.

That foundation matters because it changes how we move next.

In 2026, the CEE Perspective will take a different form. We are preparing new ways to connect education, policy, and practice, with formats that allow for deeper exchange, tools that are easier to use, and a clearer sense of ownership rooted in the region itself.

To everyone who engaged with us this year, visibly or behind the scenes, thank you. 🤝

🎄Wishing you all a peaceful holiday season and a purposeful year ahead.

📣 Get ready! The 2026 CEE Perspective Student Challenge is just around the corner!

This year’s theme, “Regulation as a Competitive Advantage,” will ask students across the CEE region to think differently about financial regulation. How can tools like DORA, CSRD and SFDR help companies not only comply but lead?

Whether you’re into research or strategy, this challenge will give you space to explore what regulatory adaptation really looks like in boardrooms, in markets and in the future of finance.

🏆 A merit scholarship, expert mentoring and visibility across our community await the winner.

🗓 Applications will open soon

⏳1 day to go! The first CEE Perspective Academy Conference finally becomes real.

Tomorrow at The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, professors, regulators, stock exchange leaders, CEOs, authors, and innovators from across Central and Eastern Europe will sit at the same tables and talk about finance in a way that feels honest. Education, regulation, capital markets, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, technology. Not in separate worlds but in conversation with each other.

The agenda reflects that mix. A fireside chat on the future of the euro and the future of banking culture. A panel where academics challenge the purpose of financial education. Another where five stock exchange leaders compare how regulation works in practice. A tech spotlight on payments innovation that connects classrooms to boardrooms. And a surprise announcement created especially for students who want to shape the future of compliance and financial technology.

💡If you have been thinking about joining either in person or virtually and have not registered yet, this is the moment: https://lnkd.in/dgbFqEfy

See you tomorrow!
