The year 2025 marked the beginning of EST Congress. The first edition took place two months ago, thrilling both participants and faculty members alike. We thank all those who honored us during the talks sessions, as well as the curious participants and volunteers who took part in our workshops. We hope EST inspired you and helped improve your knowledge of emergency medicine, critical care, trauma, and emergency surgery.
EST aimed to be different and transform the conference area. The EST Talks consisted of short, carousel-style scientific sessions led by international and national experts. Between talks, expert panel discussions were held to highlight some of the most important topics in acute care surgery. These took place every evening and were followed by the EST Community, which offered faculty members and participants the chance to get together, exchange ideas and knowledge, and share life experiences. This provided a unique opportunity to create memories and forge global connections.

It is now time to introduce you to the members of the EST 2025 Organising Committee, without whom this project would not have been possible. We would like to express our gratitude for their invaluable support, which fuelled the organising process. They were present throughout the event, investing their scientific expertise in the sessions they participated in. The EST Congress would not exist without their contribution.

Just like every large-scale scientific event, the EST Congress also aimed to provide hands-on experience alongside a wide range of scientific information. Practical skills have always been the goal of every scientific event, and this one acknowledged the importance of bringing them into the spotlight. Participants had the opportunity to learn life-saving manoeuvres.

Dr. Biloslavo is Head of the Emergency Surgery Unit at Cattinara University Hospital in Trieste, Italy, and Lecturer at the University of Trieste. A leader in Italian and European trauma surgery, he serves on the boards of SICUT and ESTES, and is President of the upcoming 2025 SICUT Annual Clinical Congress.

An active educator and international instructor (ATLS, DSTC, ESC, MUSEC), Dr. Biloslavo is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a published author with a focus on acute care, trauma, and surgical critical care.
