“Converging Professionals for Excellence”

As Founding President of the ICpEP – State of Qatar Chapter, I had the privilege of helping establish a professional platform dedicated to uniting, developing, and empowering Filipino Computer Engineers and technology professionals in Qatar.

The establishment of the chapter on 04 July 2025 represented more than the creation of a professional organization. It established a community through which Computer Engineers could pursue professional recognition, continuing education, certification, technical development, leadership, networking, mentorship, and community service.

Founding Leadership & Vision

My leadership has been guided by the principle that a professional organization should create measurable opportunities for its members. The chapter therefore promotes pathways that help Computer Engineers strengthen their professional competencies, pursue higher professional recognition, expand their networks, and contribute their expertise to both the Filipino community and the broader engineering and technology sector.

Under the banner “Converging Professionals for Excellence,” the chapter seeks to connect professionals from diverse areas of Computer Engineering—including ICT infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems and network engineering, software, artificial intelligence, automation, digital transformation, academia, and technology management.

Professional Development & Recognition

A major focus of my founding leadership has been encouraging members to progress beyond membership toward professional competency development and recognition. This includes mentoring and supporting Computer Engineers pursuing professional credentials and encouraging members to document their engineering experience, strengthen their competencies, and participate actively in continuing professional development.

Among the chapter’s milestones has been support and mentorship associated with the development of 25 Professional Computer Engineers (PCpE) and guidance for one Certified Computer Engineer (CCpE). The chapter has also supported educational advancement, including members pursuing postgraduate studies and professional development programs.

Strategic Partnerships

Building sustainable partnerships has also been an important component of the chapter’s development. The chapter established collaborations intended to extend its reach beyond conventional professional activities.

The ICpEP–Qatar × Qabayan Radio 94.3 Memorandum of Understanding, signed on 19 July 2025, supported community outreach, technology workshops, professional visibility, career-development initiatives, and engagement with the Filipino community in Qatar.

This was followed by the ICpEP–Qatar × FilPass Tamperproof Tech. Inc. partnership, signed on 21 September 2025, supporting digital document management, tamper-resistant digital certificates with QR-based verification, and technology-enabled membership and event services.

Leadership, Mentorship & Legacy

For me, serving as Founding President means more than holding an organizational title. It carries responsibility for establishing the chapter’s foundations, developing its professional culture, building relationships, creating opportunities for members, mentoring emerging professionals, and preparing future leaders to continue what was started.

My objective is to help establish a sustainable professional community in Qatar where Filipino Computer Engineers can connect, learn, lead, achieve professional recognition, and contribute internationally.

The continuing legacy I envision for ICpEP–Qatar is therefore centered on:

The journey continues as we strengthen ICpEP–Qatar’s professional community, develop future leaders, expand strategic partnerships, support professional recognition, and create new opportunities for Computer Engineers in Qatar and beyond.

🎉🇵🇭 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COMMISSIONER APAG!

On your special day, I would like to extend my warmest and sincerest birthday greetings to you, Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III.

I am deeply grateful that our professional paths have crossed, not only through ICpEP and the Philippine Computer Engineering community, but also through our shared journey toward becoming ASEAN Engineers.

One particular chapter of that journey will always remain special to me.

On May 30, 2026, in Muscat, Oman, we stood together as Filipino Computer Engineers to receive our ASEAN Engineer recognition.

In that moment, I found myself reflecting on how far the journey had taken us. We were far from home, yet we were there carrying something much bigger than our individual names and credentials.

We were representing the competence, dedication, and aspirations of Filipino Computer Engineers on an international stage.

Standing there together made the occasion even more meaningful. It reminded me that professional milestones become more significant when they are shared with colleagues who believe in advancing the same profession and opening doors for those who will come after us.

For me, that day was not simply about receiving another professional recognition. It was a reminder that every achievement carries with it a responsibility: to serve, to lead, and to help elevate the Filipino engineering profession beyond our own individual success.

I am honored that this memorable chapter of my own ASEAN journey was shared with you.

Thank you for the guidance, encouragement, friendship, and professional camaraderie you have extended along the way. I sincerely value the opportunities we have had to learn, collaborate, and celebrate milestones that contribute to the advancement of our profession.

As you celebrate another year of life and service, may God continue to bless you with good health, wisdom, strength, and many more meaningful years of leadership, service, and achievement.

Ngayong National IT Professionals Day, buong pagpapahalaga akong nagbibigay-pugay sa lahat ng IT, ICT, Computer Engineers, and Technology Professionals na araw-araw na nagsisilbing haligi ng ating digital world.

Sa likod ng bawat reliable system, secure network, protected data, successful deployment, responsive technical support, cloud platform, automation, at digital transformation ay mga propesyunal na madalas tahimik na nagtatrabaho—minsan behind the scenes, minsan under pressure, ngunit laging nakatuon sa pagpapatuloy ng operasyon at serbisyo.

Bilang isang Professional Computer Engineer (PCpE) at ASEAN Engineer (AE), at bilang isang technology professional na naglingkod sa iba’t ibang environments sa loob ng maraming taon, alam ko ang responsibilidad na kaakibat ng ating propesyon.

Hindi lamang tayo nag-aayos ng computers o systems.

We build solutions.
We protect information.
We strengthen infrastructure.
We enable organizations.
We drive innovation.
And ultimately, we help shape the digital future.

Sa bawat IT professional na nagbabantay ng systems habang tulog ang iba, sa bawat engineer na nagde-design ng mas matatag na infrastructure, sa bawat developer na lumilikha ng bagong solusyon, sa bawat cybersecurity professional na nagpoprotekta sa ating digital ecosystem, at sa bawat ICT professional na patuloy na natututo at umaangkop sa mabilis na pagbabago ng teknolohiya—

Maraming salamat sa inyong serbisyo.

Ang tunay na sukatan ng isang technology professional ay hindi lamang ang dami ng certifications o technical skills, kundi ang integridad, competence, professionalism, resilience, at malasakit sa mga taong umaasa sa ating trabaho.

Patuloy nating itaas ang antas ng ating propesyon.
Patuloy nating ibahagi ang ating kaalaman.
Patuloy nating mentor ang susunod na henerasyon.

🌟 A PERSONAL CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PTC–WEN MENA CHAPTER

As Founding President of ICpEP State of Qatar, I am especially happy to see the official chartering of the PTC–Women Engineers Network MENA Chapter and the oath-taking of its Interim Officers.

This milestone is particularly meaningful to me because it is not only about organizations and professional networks—it is also about the people, friendships, and shared journeys that connect us as Filipino engineers across the MENA region.

I would like to extend my personal congratulations to Dr. Anne Binondo, the newly Elected Interim Chairperson.

Anne and I had the opportunity to be batchmates during the ASEAN Engineer (AER) Writeshop, where we shared the same journey toward professional recognition. It is inspiring to now see her taking on another important leadership responsibility for our engineering community.

I would also like to give a special congratulations to Engr. Sonia Ibarra Buscano, one of the Interim Board Members and another colleague with whom I had the privilege of sharing a significant milestone.

Sonia and I were batchmates during the ASEAN Engineer Conferment Ceremony in Muscat, Oman, where we were among the Filipino Computer Engineers conferred the ASEAN Engineer (AE) recognition.

From the AER journey in the writeshop, to the conferment in Muscat, and now to another chapter of professional leadership in the MENA region, these experiences remind me that our professional journeys are not defined only by credentials—they are strengthened by the people we meet, the friendships we build, and the opportunities we create for one another.

As someone who has experienced the privilege and responsibility of building ICpEP State of Qatar, I know that establishing a professional chapter is only the beginning. I am confident that PTC-WEN MENA will become another meaningful platform for women engineers to lead, connect, collaborate, and inspire throughout the MENA region.

My sincere appreciation to Engr. Federico Monsada, PTC President; Dr. Lydia G. Tansinsin, Founding President of PTC-WEN; and the PTC Officers for supporting this important initiative.

To Anne, Sonia, and the entire Interim Board—our professional journeys may have started in different places, but they continue to converge in service to our engineering community.

May this new chapter be filled with meaningful collaborations, genuine friendships, professional excellence, and a lasting legacy.
