Today, 4 October 2026, during the Closing Ceremony of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) flag was officially handed over to Qatar.

🇶🇦 Doha will host the 21st Asian Games, currently scheduled for 2030 — exactly 20 years after Doha hosted the Asian Games in 2006.

Volunteer opportunity for an exciting event inside the iconic Doha Festival City mall

*RunThroughQatar* is looking for dedicated and energetic volunteers to support an exciting running race that will be held on *Friday, 25th of September 2026* inside the iconic *Doha Festival City mall*.
*Key dates:*

*Main event* : Friday, 25th of September 2026
*Bib (Race pack) collection dates* : 22-25th of September 2026

*Note: Transportation is not provided volunteers will have to use their own transportation*

*Volunteer roles*

*Ushers* : Guiding the runners and spectators to the correct locations
*Bib collection volunteers* : Helping participants collect their race kits and their bib (race) numbers
*Crowd control* : Assisting staff with crowd management and an efficient flow of people, including but not limited to spectators and athletes on kit collection day and/or on race day
*Water station* : Handing out water to runners on the course or at the finish line and resupplying tables with water when it runs out.
*Route marshals* : Active volunteers on the run course guiding runners to the correct running path and watching out for course cutters and offensive behaviour on the run course
*Bag drop* : Collecting participant bags at the start of the event and returning it to them when requested/at the end of the race
*Medal distributions* : Handing out finisher medals to the athletes that finish the race
*Cheering volunteers* : Bringing their energy to cheer for the athletes at the finish line and/or on the run course.

*Keynotes and timings*

*Meals and refreshments* : Volunteers will be provided with a meal box that contains refreshments before their working hours.

*Goodies:* volunteers will be provided with a unique RunThroughQa high visibility vest

Free Health Screening Camp Held at KIMSHEALTH Barwa City for Bangladeshi Community

A free health screening camp was held at Kimshealth, Barwa City, with the support of Bangladeshi Community Volunteer - Qatar with the aim of promoting the health and well-being of the Bangladeshi community in Qatar. Bangladeshi residents of different age groups participated in the day-long healthcare initiative.

The camp provided free Blood Pressure (BP), Body Mass Index (BMI), Random Blood Sugar (GRBS), Eye Test, and Skin Analysis,ECG testing was also available when recommended by the doctor. Participants also received necessary health advice and consultations from doctors and healthcare professionals.

The organizers stated that the main objectives of the initiative were to increase health awareness among Bangladeshi expatriates, facilitate the early identification of potential health risks, and encourage people to undergo regular health check-ups. Such initiatives play an important role in promoting awareness about the importance of preventive healthcare and regular medical check-ups among busy expatriate communities.

Agreement Signed Between KIMSHEALTH and Community Volunteer

Alongside the health screening camp, an agreement was signed between Community Volunteer and KIMSHEALTH with the aim of making healthcare services more accessible and affordable for the Bangladeshi community.

Under the agreement, special discount packages on various healthcare services provided by KIMSHEALTH will be available to Community Volunteer members and the wider Bangladeshi community. These benefits will be available across KIMSHEALTH branches.

According to the organizers, the agreement will provide Bangladeshi expatriates with an opportunity to access various medical and healthcare services at special rates. It will also create opportunities for further collaboration in organizing health screening camps, healthcare initiatives, and awareness programs according to the needs of the community.

Doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals from KIMSHEALTH,along with members of Community Volunteer,were present at the health camp and provided support throughout the program.

Representatives of Community Volunteer said that the collaboration with KIMSHEALTH is an important initiative for the welfare and health protection of the Bangladeshi community. They expressed their intention to expand healthcare and health-awareness initiatives through continued cooperation in the future.

The organizers emphasized the message, Early Detection Saves Lives.Early identification of health risks can help people seek timely medical attention and prevent potential complications. Bangladeshi expatriates were therefore encouraged to undergo regular health check-ups and remain conscious of their own health and the well-being of their family members.
