It’s that time again: a new season, a new clothing swap from your Plus Size Cuties 🎃

Aside from regular approved plus size items we will have available, we ask to you to bring in costumes to donate. You can also stop by for a last minute Halloween costume ideas!

Just follow our guidelines to donate things which helps our team not have to deal with unapproved things, any waste or damaged items and it lessens the load of work we have to do.

As always, masks are needed indoors at CASA Pitzer, where are swap will be held. Covid is still prevalent and the cold and flu season is very much upon us 😷

We are looking forward to seeing new cuties and our loyal regulars (just as cute!) this Halloween/autumn season 👻

Plus Size Cuties had a blast at today! 👚✂️

We enjoyed the engagement from community and getting to show folks how to make a quick, easy tote bag with no sewing machine. We especially loved seeing the kiddos testing their finished work by putting a water bottle and various items from their hands into the bag.

Multi-thank yous to the following: Ontario City Library for inviting us, offering supplies and support; TinkerSpace for lending us some cups we forgot to bring for the paints; CASA Pitzer and our amigay (you know who you are!) for supplying us with t-shirts for the activity. We used every shirt! Thanks to everyone who showed up 🧡🧡🧡

Plus Size Cuties is a grassroots org initially started by 2 brown, working class people living the Inland Empire who wanted to confront overconsumption of fast fashion, create solutions regarding the lack of variety, the lack of stylish, fitting & affordable plus-size clothing all while providing a person-sustainable service to community. Both cofounders may have brought this project up but we couldn’t have continued without the countless others who’ve aligned belief systems in collectivism & caring after all forms of existence.

Let’s jump right in: we are asking for various supports. We do need monetary support. We need to find & purchase (own or rent in some cases) items like: clothing racks, storage bins for all donations, ez-ups, tables, storage unit fees, air purifiers to continue covid cautious practices, full length mirrors, hangers, truck rental (for any large transportation needs) as well as many other items.

Supporting with funds? Please leave ONLY a tangerine or orange heart emoji ( 🍊🧡) in the “What’s this for?” section of V3nmo to indicate it’s for PSC. The name on V3nmo is “Jo D” & username is GlobalizeDissent.

If you rather purchase an item we need, we have a Throne wishlist with what we’re asking for. For a couple things, we have various links of the same item for people don’t want to purchase through Am*z*n. Note: If you have any of the items we want & are willing to donate or sell them, hit us up.

One major way you can support us that doesn’t involve giving funds is sharing our posts like this one. Sharing posts are vital for all mutual aid, which creates more pathways to people helping us with funds.

Also! If other orgs or clothing swap groups want to share resources or words of advice on how to sustain/maintain the work of putting on events, clothing swaps, etc., we’d absolutely appreciate that too 💗

Everyone who has helped us so far in the multiple ways they have — we cannot express our deepest gratitude enough. To anyone who does consider us with this mutual aid request at any point: we thank you 🍊

xo, Plus Size Cuties

🧡 Please share this post!

Note: We know there are many other urgent community care requests out there that need to be tended to- we believe those asks should be fulfilled asap, & we also believe there are enough resources for everyone. Especially
if mutual aid and collective care are practiced continually. We are so very thankful for the solidarity, the love and sweat put have put into keeping this project afloat.
