The Miracle

For sixteen years, a young male patient lived with severe idiopathic gastroparesis—a chronic digestive disorder that left his stomach unable to function properly. Diagnosed in infancy, his condition was so severe that he depended entirely on feeding tubes to survive, including both gastric and jejunal tubes. Oral feeding was not an option. His condition defined his life.

Medicine had no solution.

Then, in November 2011, something happened that the medical literature itself admits has no precedent.

The patient received proximal intercessory prayer at a church service. According to the published case report, the change was immediate. That very night, he was able to tolerate oral feeding—something he had not been able to do for most of his life.

What followed stunned clinicians.

Within four months, all feeding tubes were removed. Not reduced. Not supplemented. Completely removed. In the years that followed, the patient remained symptom-free, with no relapse and no medical intervention explaining the reversal.

The authors of the case report explicitly noted that there is no known medical explanation for the spontaneous and lasting resolution of such a severe, lifelong condition. Severe gastroparesis—especially one requiring feeding tubes for over a decade—is not known to simply disappear.

Yet it did.

This was not gradual improvement. It was not experimental treatment. It was not placebo therapy. It was an abrupt restoration that endured for years, documented and peer-reviewed.

For Christians, this case stands as a modern testimony that challenges the limits of medicine and points beyond it—toward a God who heals not just symptoms, but entire lives.
