Organisation of African Youth for Development and Peace

The organisation of African Youth for Development and Peace (OAYDP) is a non-governmental organisation which is founded on the need to bringing African youths all over African countries together to develop the African continent. The need is not far from the fact that despite her huge size, natural resources, human capital, conducive climate and so on, Africa is yet to have a full group of her role in the fast globalizing world. Having looked up to developed nations and other top non-governmental organisations for aid and support, we still find ourselves lagging behind in so many areas. Some have even argued that this problem may be as a result of our persistent refusal to develop but our organisation thinks the reverse is the case. We feel the main issues are not being addressed. Those issues such as violence, conflict, neglect of the youths leads to underdevelopment. It is in a bid to address this, that is finding a lasting peace which would ensure positive and aggressive development that our organisation was set up so that we don't keep looking to the outside world for sustenance rather for us to look within us (the various African countries) to find a pragmatic and holistic means of finding solution to these problems. As we know, the age bracket responsible for the development of any society is the youth, so our target is developing African Youths.
