Some places stay with you and The Retreat Animal Rescue Farm Sanctuary and Cafe is one of them. A sanctuary close to our hearts, and one we never pass without stopping in to say hello.

The scale of what the team there handles every day is something else. In the past year, over 150 pigeons, 70 gulls, 40 ducks and ducklings, corvids, doves, wild rabbits, small mammals, foxes, geese, and more came through their doors. Plus domestic and abandoned animals on top of that!

This is dedication to rescue work and The Retreat show up for it every single day.

We are very proud to support them, please head to their page to see more and send some love direct.

Meet Skyler.

Sky was found on the street with his sister, scared of every hand that came near him. Then came a foster family, and everything changed.

Now he's completely won over by people. Quick to learn, eager to please, and he already answers to his name. He keeps his space spotless, always does his business outside, and lets you know exactly when dinner's late (one sharp bark, purely for effect).

He runs. He eats. He cuddles. Usually in that order, though the order shifts depending on the day. His paws are still a size ahead of the rest of him, so the occasional trip comes with the territory!

Sky's foster family would keep him if they could. With several other dogs already in their care, they're hoping to find him a family of his own, someone who loves long walks, doesn't mind a dog who's completely devoted to them, and enjoys a good cuddle session as much as he does.

Want to see him in action before you meet him in person? We can set up a video call first.

If not Skyler, share and let us find your match. Reach out to us!

This week, we are taking animal first aid training on the road.

Trained first aiders. Real session. The volunteers and staff who show up every day for the animals in our network.

Day one is done. Four more to go.

If you could learn something tomorrow, what would it be?
