To experience a conscious astral projection, it is not enough to simply want to leave the body. As with any activity in life, there are mental and physical postures that make the process easier.
These postures involve both a psychological attitude — staying calm, relaxed, and attentive — and the position of the physical body, creating the ideal conditions for consciousness to detach with lucidity.
In general, the goal is simple: to allow the physical body to become completely relaxed and still, while the mind remains awake. For this, it is recommended to lie on your back in a comfortable place, such as a bed or even the floor, if that helps you relax more deeply. Clothing should be light and loose, with nothing tightening the body — belts, watches, glasses, or any accessory that causes discomfort should be removed. Using pillows can be very helpful. One under the head and others under the knees, for example, improve circulation and increase comfort. The legs should be extended without tension, with the feet slightly apart.
The head should remain in a neutral position, without straining the neck. Then, the most important step is to consciously relax all muscles, including the face, jaw, and neck — areas where many people hold tension without realizing it. The eyes should remain naturally closed, as if you were going to sleep, and the mouth closed without tightening the lips.
Gradually, allow the entire body to enter a deep state of relaxation and stillness. Over time, a sensation of numbness or physical “shutdown” may arise — the body slowly falls asleep while consciousness observes the process.
