Keffiyeh/Made in China ... Made in Jenin
From Jenin to the world, Keffiyeh/Made in China continues its journey.
A 2021 production by The Freedom Theatre, the play stands as a bold theatrical work: sharp, satirical, deeply human, and artistically daring. It moves through the intimate landscapes of Palestinian life under occupation, family, love, fear, humour, checkpoints, imprisonment, capitalism and survival, refusing clichés, slogans, and easy narratives.
First made in Jenin, the production went on to appear on Palestinian, Arab and international stages, including the Ashtar International Youth Theatre Festival in Ramallah and Carthage Theatre Days in Tunisia.
At its core, Keffiyeh/Made in China asks what happens when symbols of struggle are consumed by the world, while the people who carry them continue to live under occupation.
This is theatre as testimony.
Theatre as memory.
Theatre as resistance.

كوفية صنعت في الصين ... صُنعت في جنين
من جنين إلى العالم، تواصل كوفية صنعت في الصين رحلتها.
إنتاج مسرح الحرية عام ٢٠٢١، عملٌ مسرحي جريء، ساخر، عميق الإنسانية، ومغامر فنياً. يدخل إلى التفاصيل الحميمة للحياة الفلسطينية تحت الاحتلال: العائلة، الحب، الخوف، الفكاهة، الحواجز، الاعتقال، الرأسمالية، والنجاة، بعيداً عن الكليشيهات والشعارات والسرديات الجاهزة.
انطلق العمل من جنين، وحضر لاحقاً على خشبات فلسطينية وعربية ودولية، من بينها مهرجان عشتار الدولي لمسرح الشباب في رام الله وأيام قرطاج المسرحية في تونس.
في جوهره، يطرح العمل سؤالاً حاداً: ماذا يحدث حين يستهلك العالم رموز النضال، بينما يواصل أصحابها الحياة تحت الاحتلال؟
هذا مسرحٌ كشهادة.
مسرحٌ كذاكرة.
مسرحٌ كمقاومة.
كوفية صنعت في الصين؛ عملٌ صُنع في جنين، وما زال يخاطب العالم.
