Nearly three years of war, and now a new school year for my boys in Gaza. No school uniforms this time, and we’re still living in a tent—but I’m hoping this is a good new start. 📚❤️

Karim and Karam deserve the everyday things so many kids grow up with: school, friends, and a safe place to come home to.

As their dad, I’m doing what I can to give them that. Some days, just covering the basics is hard. But seeing them excited about school gives me something to look forward to, too.

If you’d like to help us cover our daily needs and work toward safer shelter, our family’s fundraiser is linked in my bio. A donation or a share would mean a lot to us.

Here’s hoping for a kinder year for my boys and every child in Gaza. 🤍

I was sitting here today thinking about the life I used to have… and I realized I even miss coming home exhausted from work.

For years, I worked in healthcare. Long shifts, stressful days, sometimes coming home with barely any energy left.

On my way back, I’d stop for groceries or pick up something the kids needed.

Then I’d open my own front door.

I’d hear my kids inside, sit with my wife, eat something, and we’d talk about our day.

It sounds so simple.

Back then, it was just normal life. I never thought I’d miss it this much.

Today, we’re living in a tent, and I don’t have a steady income anymore.

And sitting here, I realize how much I miss those ordinary days.

I miss my work.
I miss providing for my family.
I miss coming home tired and knowing I had a home to come back to.

I’m not looking for a perfect life.

I just want to work again, take care of my family, and give my kids a safe place they can call home.

Sometimes you don’t realize how much the ordinary things mean… until they’re no longer ordinary.

I’m still trying to build that life again for my family. One day at a time. 🤍

Between the tents, there’s still room for life. ⚽️🇵🇸

From a distance, you see a football pitch. Look closer, and you see people who need this moment—to play, cheer their hearts out, and put down the weight of these days, even just for a little while.

Everyone standing around that pitch has a story. A home they miss. A life they wish they could return to. Today, a match brought them together and gave them something to look forward to, something to cheer for.

This is us in Gaza. We get tired. We miss what we had. And when a little room for joy opens up, we hold on to it.

May the next match be surrounded by homes. And when the final whistle blows, may everyone have a safe place to go home to. 🤍

Wishing all our amazing students the best of luck as they head back to school. ❤️📚

Today, around 400,000 students across Gaza are returning to in-person learning after nearly three years of disruption because of the war.

For many of them, “back to school” looks very different this time — studying inside tents, without school uniforms or even basic stationery.

Still, they’re showing up, learning, and trying to keep their dreams alive. 🎒✏️

Wishing every student a safe and hopeful school year. ❤️
