The staff of FAI consists of multidisciplinary specialists in the field of informal education, nonviolence behavioral attitude, conflict resolution, peace education and constructive dialogue trying to bridge gabs between different disputes. FAI seeks to enrich the cultural and artistic scenes and creating a unique drama status among children, teenagers and youth. Over the past 15 years, FAI has be
en active in different fields as needed and prioritized by local communities and partner organizations. Key theater activities implemented in cooperation with international donors:
• Promoting democracy and human rights using theater and role play among children, youth and women in 2001 to 2004 through funds from USAID.
• Safety mitigation of children in relation to dangers of mins using drama, through funds from UNICEF in 2005.
• Enhance political reform of youth using theater and role play through funds from EU in 2005/2006.
• Promoting the democratic process for the youth of the Gaza Strip through drama for youth through funds from EU in 2008.
• Enhance women rights using theater and role play in cooperation with Women Affairs through funds from Care International in 2010. Through the above 8 plays Fekra presented 490 stage performances that followed by 390 workshops all over the Gaza Strip. B. Key Animation and Drama activities:
• Educational and recreational training programs on animation and drama in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Funded by CIDA and ANERA in 2005 to 2008.
• A film on health promotion and sanitation presented to school children through funds from Welfare association in 2007.
• Informal education and psychosocial support using animation and drama methodology through funds from NDC and World Bank from 2009 to 2012.
• Informal education and recreational program using animation and drama methodology through funds from Welfare Association in 2010.
• Informal education and psychosocial support using animation and drama methodology through funds from Action Aid in 2009/2010.
• Supporting Psychosocial Initiatives for Children Affected by War in Gaza using animation and drama methodology through fund from ActionAid in 2014 and ongoing. This project has been launched as an emergency response to the last war on Gaza where thousands of children became victims and traumatized. FAI is an active member to the education and childhood cluster with OCHA in Gaza. Most of FAI activities are being coordinated and facilitated with Cluster groups in order to avoid duplication and achieve tangible benefits to our target groups.
