Our walk schedule may have changed, but we’re still here! We’re always happy to welcome new faces to our walks, and our doors remain open to those interested in fostering.

Please consider joining our volunteer chat and getting to know our dogs through the links in our bio!

Molly was taken from a home where the only space she had was incredibly small, and had to be shared with her 3 puppies. The family that had them couldn't get them the vet services they needed to thrive due to some ongoing health issues. They were sad to surrender them, but made the right decision, knowing they'd have a chance at a better life. Molly and her puppies are fully vaccinated and sterilized now, and Molly will start that great life she deserves when she goes to her new home in South Carolina next month. After describing what she wanted in a dog, I knew the perfect match that would make the best companion her new family could ever find. Molly will be the perfect fit for this new life and I can't wait to see her get every bit of spoiling she deserves.

Santa arrived early at ADLA! And he came with enough toys for everyone.

Thanks to a generous donation, every single dog at the shelter got to pick out a little something of their own. It’s not every day that all our dogs get something new to play with, and we’re happy they each got to be part of it!

If you’d like to send something our dogs’ way, our Amazon Wishlist and PayPal Giving Fund are both linked in our bio. Thank you for thinking of them!

Yesterday, one of our longtime volunteers and adopters took Chango out for a day of adventures! He visited the mall, stopped by a festival, and got to enjoy something every dog deserves: new experiences, plenty of attention, and lots of love.

We love seeing our dogs enjoy life beyond the shelter, and we’re so grateful to the people who make these little adventures possible.

If you’d like to take one of our dogs out for the day, whether it’s for a walk, a trip to explore somewhere new, or simply some quality time outside the shelter, reach out to us!

As we continue building our new shelter, we’ve been working with Puerto Rico Animal Rescue (Puerto Rico Animal Rescue ) to make things a little easier for the dogs in our care. After a couple of unfortunate dumps, we’re more crowded than ever, and we’re having to get creative about how we make the best use of the space available to us.

Through our partnership with PRAR, our younger puppies have made their way to their farm, where they’ll have more space to grow. In exchange, we’ve welcomed some new faces of our own!

Samson, Kimbo, Emmett, Chango, and Loki are now at ADLA, getting to know our volunteers and joining them for walks outside the shelter. This is the first of a few exchanges we’re planning to help make our transition into the new location a little smoother, while giving our volunteers the chance to get to know some different dogs along the way!

We know how much goes into caring for animals here in Puerto Rico, and having other organizations willing to work together makes a difference.

PRAR has dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities, along with cats, looking for homes of their own. Go check them out and meet some of their own!

And if you haven’t joined us for a volunteer walk yet, we’d love to see you. A walk along the ocean isn’t a bad way to spend an evening!
