Spoko Polish Spoko Polish is a collaborative team of progressive and passionate teachers of Polish as a foreign language. EVERYONE CAN LEARN POLISH!

We strive to shift the way Polish is taught as a foreign language. We are inclusive, anti-discriminatory and develop our own ways of teaching contemporary Polish, drawing on various teaching methods and adhering directly to CEFR language level de

finitions. Through our friendly learning environment and a variety of modern methods that draw on the pleasure and satisfaction students gain through learning new skills, we enable our students to achieve sustained progress and develop the skills and confidence to interact in Polish. Our mission is to contribute to a well-integrated, tolerant, multicultural society in Poland through language teaching, cultural activities and community-oriented projects. We offer:
Semester group courses, online & in Wroclaw: 4-6 students, 45 hours of teaching, at levels:
- A1.1 Survival Polish
- A1.2 First Steps in Polish
- A1+ 1 semester A1 course
- A2.1 Finding Your Voice in Polish

Small group courses, online: 2-4 students, 4-6 weeks in length, at various levels

Language matters. When we talk about older adults, choosing respectful words helps create a more inclusive world.

🟣 Use: osoba starsza, senior/seniorka, osoba dojrzała, osoba w podeszłym wieku, osoba 60+

🔵 Avoid: osoba stara, babcia/dziadek (if not about family members), starzec/starucha

Why?
Because respectful language focuses on people first - not stereotypes.

✔️ People-first vocabulary (we underline 'osoba')
✔️ No patronizing or infantilizing tone
✔️ Inclusive & age-positive

Osoby w wieku 60+ mówiące po ukraińsku lub rosyjsku, które znają podstawy języka polskiego.

O czym jest ten kurs?
Na kursie skoncentrujemy się na codziennych sytuacjach, jak wizyta u lekarza, poruszanie się po mieście, rozmowa z sąsiadami, oraz na kompetencjach cyfrowych, jak korzystanie z translatorów i wybranych narzędzi Google.

According to reports, the biggest problem in adaptation for migrants is the language barrier. Why is language one of the first needs of a person adapting in the local community? 

How does it work exactly? 

Let’s imagine you are a migrant who doesn’t know the language in a new country.

First, you focus on surviving. You need a place to live, to buy groceries, to visit a doctor, and so on. Without basic language skills, even these tasks are challenging.

Next comes employment. Without the local language, job opportunities are limited. Language skills would help you find a new job, understand instructions and connect with colleagues.

It might also be important to know how to defend your rights. Perhaps at work, at your child’s school, or during administrative tasks like legalizing your settlement or registering your car. 

But you’re not just surviving – you’re living. Of course you need a language to enjoy the local culture, customs, humor, and traditions. 

You look for friends, start building relationships, and even chat with your partner’s granny. With knowing the language, it’s simpler to build your well-being.

Language is the key to sustainable integration.
