Democracies across the world are confronting structural challenges that test resilience, institutions, and public trust.

At Davos 2026, the Community of Democracies will host “Frontier Democracies, Democracy’s Frontiers”, a public discussion examining how democracies under pressure are responding to authoritarian influence and global instability.

The panel will feature voices from different regions, with a keynote address by Oleksandra Matviichuk, Head of the Center for Civil Liberties and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate (2022, TBC).

On International Human Rights Day, the Community of Democracies reaffirms that the protection of human rights is integral to democratic governance.

At a time when repression, conflict, and disinformation continue to challenge fundamental freedoms in many parts of the world, it is essential that democratic states and partners work together to safeguard the dignity, security, and rights of all individuals.

Human rights are not only universal legal principles, they are also the foundation of peaceful, inclusive, and resilient democratic societies. The Community of Democracies remains committed to supporting Member States, civil society, and young leaders in advancing these values around the world.

The Community of Democracies convened the 41st Governing Council Meeting at the Permanent Secretariat in Warsaw, bringing together Member States to review progress, set priorities for the year ahead, and strengthen cooperation in support of democratic values worldwide.

Discussions covered a wide range of priorities, including democratic resilience, security in the Baltic Sea region, youth engagement, and upcoming multilateral initiatives. Member States also welcomed updates from the Youth Democracy Network and civil society partners.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all participating Member States for their continued commitment to the Warsaw Declaration and to advancing democratic principles through collective action.
