Ahoj! Coming to Confrontations Festival in Lublin

Thrilled to announce that If I had a gun, I’d take them all down, co-produced by Fundacja Teatru Trans Atlantyk and FestivALT, will be presented at the Konfrontacje Teatralne Festival in Lublin on October 3rd and 4th! 🌟🎭

This is a monodrama with a text by Ukrainian artist Piotr Armianovski, created with Paul Bargetto (director) and Michael Rubenfeld (performer).

The piece is a raw and uncompromising performance that is both personal testimony and historical excavation — an interrogation of Ukraine’s ongoing struggle with cyclical violence and Russian aggression. It is inspired by the true story of Dmitry Bogrov (1887–1911), the Jewish-Ukrainian law student, revolutionary, and double agent who assassinated Russia’s Prime Minister Pyotr Stolypin at the Kyiv Opera House.

Bogrov’s path to that fateful act is interwoven with the playwright’s reflections on Maidan, Donetsk, exile, and the ongoing war in Ukraine. Past and present collapse into a charged, unforgettable theatrical experience. With video by Piotr Armianovski and sound by Natan Kryszk, the audience is immersed in the streets of Kyiv, where monuments, boulevards, and cathedrals become sites of memory, resistance, and the unending fight for justice.

👉 Performed in English, with Polish and Ukrainian subtitles. 🇺🇦🇵🇱🇺🇸

A new monodrama written by Ukrainian artist Piotr Armianovski ( ), directed by Paul Bargetto ( ), performed by Michael Rubenfeld ( ).

The story follows Dymtry Bogrov, a Jewish anarchist who assassinated the Russian Prime Minister at the Kyiv Opera House in 1911. But this isn’t history.
It’s Kyiv, now — a city under fire, filmed weeks ago by the author himself.

A single walk. A single question:
What is the cost of freedom, and what price are you willing to pay?

This is a work shaped by rage and the cyclical nature of violence and oppression.

A performance made in English, with Polish and Ukrainian subtitles.

Our workshops, led by Paul Bargetto, offer a unique opportunity to transform history and personal memory into powerful theatrical experiences. Using methods inspired by The Hellinger Method of Systemic Constellations and improvisation, students attempt to embody the subjects in photographs from the past, from interviews, and from objects. Designed for cultural centers, these sessions provide participants with the creative tools to bring compelling narratives to life on stage. The sessions also introduce Viewpoints Movement Training, a dynamic approach that deepens body awareness and creates innovative physical expressions for storytelling.

In the photo: This moment highlights the creative exploration of the town of Kołobrzeg’s vibrant past at a workshop in the Regionalne Centrum Kultury in a workshop for actors with director Adam Frankiewicz, local performers, and members of the community. The participants explored the transformative art of documentary theater.

At Fundacja Teatru Trans-Atlantyk, we believe that storytelling is a vital bridge between memory and creativity, art and community. These workshops reaffirm our mission to preserve cultural identity and foster creative growth.

What story would you love to see brought to life on stage? Share your ideas in the comments—we’d love to hear from you!

Through Eldorado Teatr, we bring together artists from around the world to collaborate on projects that bridge live arts and digital broadcasting. Eldorado is a theater, an online digital broadcaster, an international live arts producer, a pirate television station, a research laboratory, a social activism incubator, a gallery, and a residency space. Whether you tune in for a live broadcast or explore our virtual exhibition space, Eldorado Teatr offers a dynamic and immersive experience that bridges the digital and the physical, the live and the recorded, the historical and the contemporary.

We are inspired by the history and spirit of resistance of two historic venues: the original Eldorado Theater in Warsaw, which was a pioneering Jewish theater in the 19th century, and the Eldorado Club in Berlin, a famous drag club in the 1920s and 1930s. These venues were centers of cultural and social innovation, and symbols of resistance to tyranny. Eldorado Teatr aspires to honor their brave traditions.

At Fundacja Teatru Trans-Atlantyk, collaboration is at the core of our creative mission. We partner with a diverse range of artists, activists, and cultural institutions to produce projects that challenge expectations and inspire change. These collaborations span continents, bringing together unique voices to create meaningful art projects that resonate globally.

Our commitment to Ukrainian artists is exemplified by projects like Every Minute Motherland, a dance piece led by Maciej Kuźmiński. Developed in response to the Russian invasion, it explores trauma, exile, and resilience through the stories of Ukrainian refugees, standing as an act of resistance and a statement of solidarity with Ukraine.

We collaborate with LGBTQ+ activists and artists in projects like Alphabet Cities and Six Trans-Atlantyk Walks in the Q***r Woods. These projects explore q***r identities and histories, providing a platform for LGBTQ+ voices in Poland and beyond. By collaborating with artists like Annie Danger, Szymon Adamczak, Liliana Ziec, and organizations like the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, we create spaces where art becomes a medium for advocacy and social change.

Our partnerships extend to projects that honor Jewish life and history. The Eldorado project is inspired by the history of the original Eldorado Teatr in Warsaw, a Jewish theater that operated in the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. We have numerous projects in the works with Krakow based FestiVALT, a key partner in exploring and celebrating Jewish culture through interdisciplinary arts. This collaboration highlights the rich cultural narratives of Jewish communities and fosters intercultural dialogue.

We have also collaborated with international activists such as Julia Maciocha, Sister Merry Peter, and Anne Northrup, bringing global perspectives into our work. These collaborations enrich our projects, providing diverse insights and enhancing the cultural dialogue we strive to foster.

Join us in exploring these transformative projects and discover how art can drive social change.
