We are the mothers- ordinary women- and our tragedies has brought us together. We think that our current life is caused by lack of perinatal standards that in consequence has led to medical malpractice. We believe, that this situation can be changed. Each of us proves every day that change is possible. We want to make one common perinatal standard that will protect mothers, children and also creat
e health care standards for children disabled because of medical malpractice during the labour. We believe that every European woman has the right for safe childbirth no matter if she is using public health care or she wants to give birth in home. We categorically oppose to breaking procedures and perinatal health care standards. No matter if the woman is giving birth naturally or the labour has complications (for example when caesarean section is necessary) women always have right for safety standards. In many European countries perinatal procedures are reduced. There are no standards for prenatal examinations. Frequently lack of the right qualification cause problems for European hospitals. Only fully healthy mothers can give birth naturally. Stress and other environmental factors are the main reasons for increasing number of non-natural labours. We want all babies to have safe childbirth. Unfortunatelly lack of european standards is putting both mothers and doctors in very bad situation. Women and doctors don't have ability to provide professional and early help to mothers and children which were prenatally diagnosed with serious disorders, like for example Down syndrome or spina bifida. Only complex european solutions can be a guarantee of safety during the labour and also on following years if the child would need further rehabilitation or different medical care. In practice in many European countries mothers of disabled children (including children disabled because of medical malpractice) can rely only on help of non-governmental organisations. Our fight for equal perinatal european standards are worth supporting. „Safe Childbirth” is a project of people and organizations from different countries that are engaged in creating equal european standards of perinatal health care. Our goal is to educate and to get funds from European Union for buying medical devices to the hospitals and training doctors, midwifes and patients. We believe that mothers need to know their laws and when they should be aware of medical staff. Our purpose is safety of mothers and children and in consequence- higher number of births. We want to prepare the goverments and EU's institutions to increase expenditure for perinatal health care, so the growth of healthy new generation would be possible. To make it happen it is essential to make informative action which could convince them to our postulates. Otherwise more and more European women will decide not to have babies, which will be a cause of European demographic problem. Our goal is to get funds from European Union for buying medical devices to the hospitals and training doctors, midwifes and patients. Howether we can't do it without your help. We must prepare statistics from all European countries's hospitals and departments, make brochures, pay for our organization's website servers... also to get the petition to be implemented, there are obligatory consultations in Brussels that the Organization must attend.
