The final days of our scientific internship “SPATIAL SCIENCES IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBALIZATION: NEW OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES” brought an intensive, dynamic, and truly inspiring conclusion to the entire programme 🌍
On Saturday, participants had the opportunity to explore some of the most iconic and beautiful parts of Gdańsk. The day included a visit to Oliwa, with its historic park and impressive cathedral, followed by a walk through the Main Town, including Długa Street and the picturesque waterfronts along the Motława River. Throughout the day, discussions focused on tourism, its spatial dimension, and its role in shaping both historical and contemporary urban structures 🏙️
On Sunday, participants were guided through Gdynia during a long and engaging walking tour. The group explored the city not only visually, but also analytically - learning about its relatively young history, modernist heritage, and contemporary urban challenges. Particular attention was given to the role of tourism, the development and transformation of waterfront areas, and broader questions of spatial management and planning 🌊
Monday began with a visit to the University of Tourism and Hospitality in Gdańsk, where participants met with the university authorities. The meeting focused on the institution’s model of operation, its educational philosophy, and its strong emphasis on hospitality-oriented, practice-based learning 🎓 This part of the programme created space for meaningful dialogue, exchange of institutional experiences, and identifying concrete opportunities for future academic cooperation. Participants established close professional contacts and discussed potential joint initiatives, exchanges, and collaborative projects 🤝
Later, the group took a short walk through Wrzeszcz, observing examples of urban transformation and everyday city life. Afterwards, everyone travelled together to Otomin, where the internship was officially concluded in a lakeside restaurant. During the closing meeting, participants received certificates of completion. The final gathering created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It was a moment to share a meal, enjoy coffee, take a walk by the lake, and continue conversations that often turned towards future cooperation and long-term relationships ☕
We would like to sincerely thank all participants as well as everyone involved in organizing and supporting this programme 🙏 We strongly believe, and feel, that it was a valuable experience for all. At the same time, it marks an important and promising beginning for the future of our foundation. More internships and similar initiatives are already being planned!

Останні дні нашого наукового стажування «ПРОСТОРОВІ НАУКИ В КОНТЕКСТІ ГЛОБАЛІЗАЦІЇ: НОВІ МОЖЛИВОСТІ ТА ВИКЛИКИ» стали інтенсивним, динамічним та надзвичайно натхненним завершенням усієї програми 🌍
У суботу учасники мали можливість відвідати найкрасивіші та найважливіші місця Гданська. Програма включала Оливу з її історичним парком і величним кафедральним собором, а також прогулянку Головним містом, зокрема вулицею Длугою та мальовничими набережними Мотлави. Протягом дня обговорювалися питання туризму, його просторового виміру та ролі у формуванні як історичної, так і сучасної міської структури 🏙️
У неділю Патрик Блават провів учасників Гдинею під час тривалої та змістовної пішої екскурсії. Група знайомилася з містом не лише візуально, а й аналітично – дізнаючись про його відносно молоду історію, модерністичну спадщину та сучасні виклики розвитку. Особливу увагу приділено ролі туризму, розвитку та трансформації waterfront-зон, а також ширшим питанням просторового планування та управління територіями 🌊
Понеділок розпочався з візиту до Вищої школи туризму і готельного господарства в Гданську, де учасники зустрілися з керівництвом закладу. Основна увага була приділена моделі функціонування університету, його освітній філософії та орієнтації на практичне навчання і сферу гостинності 🎓 Ця частина програми створила простір для змістовного діалогу, обміну досвідом між установами та визначення конкретних напрямків майбутньої співпраці. Учасники налагодили тісні професійні контакти та обговорили можливі спільні проєкти, обміни та ініціативи 🤝
Після цього група здійснила коротку прогулянку Вжещем, спостерігаючи приклади міських трансформацій та повсякденного життя міста. Згодом усі разом вирушили до Отомина, де в ресторані над озером відбулося офіційне завершення стажування. Під час підсумкової зустрічі учасники отримали сертифікати. Завершення проходило у невимушеній та дружній атмосфері – це була нагода спільно пообідати, випити кави, прогулятися біля озера та продовжити розмови, які часто переходили у конкретні ідеї майбутньої співпраці ☕
Щиро дякуємо всім учасникам, а також усім, хто був залучений до організації та реалізації цієї програми 🙏 Ми переконані та відчуваємо, що це був цінний досвід для всіх. Водночас це важливий і перспективний початок для майбутнього нашої фундації. Нові подібні стажування вже плануються!
