The election of the 28-member PIMA Central Executive Council is complete. The newly elected CEC comprises five members from Central Punjab, two each from North Punjab, South Punjab, and Baluchistan, 10 from Sindh, five from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and one each from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The newly elected CEC will take the oath at the 28th Biennial Central Convention, to be held on 17–18 October at Khyber Medical College, Peshawar. In sha Allah

PIMA has expressed serious concern over orders requiring Afghan medical students studying at Pakistani public and private medical universities to leave the country and has called for a review on humanitarian and educational grounds.
PIMA emphasised that political conflicts should not affect healthcare, education, or students' futures, and that Afghan medical students should be allowed to complete their professional education.

PIMA Women Branch and the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) Karachi jointly organized Pakistan’s first Pediatric Skeletal Dysplasia Workshop on 7 September 2026, facilitated by Dr. Marya Hameed. The workshop was attended by 40 healthcare professionals, including pediatricians, radiologists, orthopedic surgeons, geneticists, and allied health professionals.

The workshop covered the classification of skeletal dysplasias, radiological approaches and imaging interpretation, differential diagnosis, OSCE-based assessment, and practical image review, followed by an interactive expert-led Q&A session.

MEDCON 2026
Pakistan’s premier student-focused medical conference, MEDCON 2026, was successfully held on 5th September 2026 at the Najmuddin Auditorium, JPMC, Karachi.
The conference brought together enthusiastic medical students for a day of learning, academic exchange, research, and healthy competition, featuring a research poster competition and an awards ceremony celebrating outstanding student achievements.
Dr. Ahmed Salman Ghouri, General Secretary, PIMA Pakistan, delivered the inaugural address, encouraging medical students to pursue academic excellence and professional growth.
PIMA Karachi President, Dr. Syed Ahmer Hamid, also graced the occasion and appreciated the efforts of the young doctors and organizers. He encouraged the students to continue pursuing excellence in medicine and research. He also visited the PIMA stall set up at the venue.
Senior PIMA members Dr. Saqib Hussain Ansari, Dr. Kashif Shazlee, and Dr. Zaki Uddin Ahmed also participated in the conference. Their presence and valuable contributions added to the academic proceedings and reflected PIMA Karachi’s continued support for student-led academic initiatives.
