🌍 World Hepatitis Day

On World Hepatitis Day, the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA), in collaboration with Alkhidmat Karachi, organized awareness sessions, seminars, and walks across Alkhidmat hospitals in Karachi to promote hepatitis prevention, early diagnosis, and timely treatment.

Dr. Saqib Hussain Ansari, Medical Director, Alkhidmat Health Services, highlighted that hepatitis is a silent but preventable disease. He urged the public to adopt preventive measures, get vaccinated where applicable, and undergo timely screening.

Awareness, prevention, and early testing are the keys to a Hepatitis-Free Pakistan.

PIMA expresses deep concern over reports of obstacles preventing injured and sick individuals from accessing timely medical care in various areas of Azad Kashmir.
Access to healthcare is a fundamental human right recognized under international humanitarian law, Islamic teachings, and universal human values. Even during periods of conflict or unrest, every individual has the right to receive medical treatment without discrimination.
PIMA urges the relevant authorities to ensure immediate, safe, impartial, and unhindered access to healthcare for all those in need, and to protect all individuals seeking medical treatment from arrest, intimidation, or harassment.

PIMA Relief Karachi – Free Medical & Eye Camp
On 12th July 2026, PIMA Relief Karachi organized a Free Medical & Eye Camp near POB Hospital, Zia Colony, Khairabad, Orangi Town, providing essential healthcare services to the local community.
•220 patients benefited from Medical OPD services
•72 patients received eye examinations
•Free haemoglobin and blood sugar testing conducted
•14-day free medicines provided to deserving patients
•Children received free anti-worm treatment
•Families affected by skin infections were provided treatment for all family members to help prevent further spread
•Health education sessions conducted, with special emphasis on clean drinking water and hand hygiene
Patients requiring specialized eye care were identified and selected for free eye surgery, scheduled to be performed at POB Hospital, Surjani, on 25th July 2026.
