Our focus is on HEDS--as in parts per million, the level scientists have identified as the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere. We like to think that what ppm really stands for is "people-powered-movement" -- the kind that will hold our leaders accountable to the latest climate science, so we can start the global transformation we so desperately need.
2010 is going to be a big year for the
movement: it's the year we Get to Work -- building sustainable solutions in our communities and showing our leaders that they actually need to lead. HEDS is a social welfare non-profit organization established in 2007 and certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy. HEDS programmes are designed to enhance the quality of life of disadvantaged communities by providing them with improved access to education and healthcare services, and by building physical infrastructure and water management systems that contribute to social, economic and environmental security.
