On 16 September 2026, Chairman SIMAP Mr. Zeshan Tariq, along with members of the surgical industry, welcomed His Excellency Mr. Raimundas Karoblis, Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan, to SIMAP.

The session was based on an interactive Q&A session on EU MDR compliance and the key challenges faced by Pakistan’s surgical instruments industry. Industry participants raised their concerns and sought clarity on various MDR-related matters, which were comprehensively addressed by Mr. Raimundas Karoblis.

On 11 September 2026, SIMAP marked an important moment as the newly elected Office Bearers for the term 2026–2028 were formally announced following the unopposed elections.

With Group Leader, Business Alliance Group, Mr. Yousaf Hassan Bajwa, presiding over the occasion, the following were announced:

Senior Vice Chairman - Mr. M. Amar Khan, M/s Med Martel Instruments
Vice Chairman - Mr. Naveed Shahid Towne, M/s Metro Medical

The gathering warmly congratulated the new Office Bearers, who expressed their gratitude and reaffirmed their commitment to carrying forward SIMAP’s vision and initiatives.

On 3 September 2026, Chairman SIMAP, Mr. Zeshan Tariq, along with the Executive Members of SIMAP, held an interactive meeting with the Probationary Officers of the Commerce & Trade Group, accompanied by officials from PITAD and TDAP, as part of their study tour.

The interaction provided the visiting officers with an overview of Sialkot’s surgical industry, its export potential, and the key challenges faced by the sector, followed by a detailed discussion to gain practical insights into the industry and possible areas for improvement.
