SVDP Strengthens Teachers’ Capacity Through Early Childhood Education Training

As part of its commitment to strengthening the professional capacity of teachers, the Abdul Yaqeen Turk (AYT) School of Excellence, an educational initiative of the Sindh Village Development Program (SVDP), organized a two-day training workshop on “Basic Concepts of Early Childhood Care and Education” in Village Bajara, Taluka Sehwan.
The training workshop was designed to enhance teachers’ knowledge and professional skills by introducing them to innovative and effective teaching techniques, classroom strategies, and approaches to early childhood care and education. Teachers from AYT School actively participated in the workshop, which focused on child-centered learning, early childhood development, effective teaching methodologies, and practical approaches for creating engaging and supportive learning environments.
The workshop was voluntarily facilitated by Mr. Abdul Hameed Mallah, an experienced educationist with extensive expertise in teacher training and educational development. Through interactive and hands-on learning methods, the facilitator encouraged participants to engage in group discussions, demonstrations, practical exercises, and experience-sharing sessions. These activities enabled teachers to explore practical ways of applying the concepts and techniques introduced during the training in their classrooms.
The trainer emphasized the importance of moving beyond traditional teaching approaches and adopting dynamic, student-centered strategies that encourage critical thinking, creativity, participation, and active learning among students. He also highlighted the need for teachers to continuously update their knowledge and teaching practices in response to the evolving needs of learners.
An important feature of the workshop was the opportunity provided to teachers to share their classroom experiences, challenges, and practical concerns. This created a collaborative learning environment and enabled participants to learn from one another while exploring possible solutions to common teaching challenges.
The workshop concluded with a closing ceremony attended by Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Bhatti and Mr. Naveed Ali Bhatti. Certificates of participation were distributed among the participating teachers in recognition of their active engagement in the training.
The initiative reflects SVDP’s continued efforts to invest in teacher capacity building and quality education, recognizing that well-trained and motivated teachers play a vital role in improving learning outcomes and supporting the holistic development of children.
