DFP IHHN IPC Sanghar, Azeem Roonjho is Receiving an appreciation certificate from the Deputy Commissioner of Sanghar Dr Imran ul Hassan Khawaja, in presence of DHO Sanghar Dr. Dault Jamali and WHO Officials, as recognition of the IHHN IPC team's efforts in health awareness and education. The team supported the district health department by mobilizing Youth Volunteers to engage various communities during multiple campaigns. This event was organized by DPEC.

The District Focal Person for The Indus Hospital & Health Network, Muhammad Azeem Roonjho, provided a detailed briefing on recent IPC initiatives during a meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Sanghar, Dr. Imran Ul Hassan Khuwaja. The discussion highlighted the implementation of IPC trainings, community awareness sessions, and mobile van unit campaigns conducted across all health facilities in the district, including government, PPHI, and private healthcare centers. Additionally, the distribution of essential sterilization tools such as autoclaves and pressure cookers was emphasized, aimed at ensuring proper instrument sterilization based on the needs of these facilities. Educational materials, including hand hygiene and IPC-related charts, were also disseminated to promote awareness and adherence to IPC protocols.

Key Agenda: Incineration of Infectious Waste
A significant focus of the meeting was on addressing the incineration of infectious medical waste a critical step to mitigate environmental pollution and safeguard human health. Strategies were discussed to establish an integrated system for the proper collection, transportation, and incineration of infectious waste across the district.

Sanghar, 02 January 2025 (Handout):
A meeting was held at the DC Office in Sanghar under the Infection and Prevention Control Program, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khwaja. The meeting was attended by government officials and representatives from non-governmental organizations. During the briefing, Azeem Ranjho, a representative of Indus Hospital, stated that under this program, they have trained the staff of all public and private hospitals in the district. This year, they aim to take practical steps to improve hospital cleanliness in collaboration with the district administration and the district health department. He added that this consultative meeting was organized to seek the opinions of all relevant officials and to work more effectively. He further mentioned that their organization is working in six districts of Sindh, including Sanghar, conducting training programs and raising public awareness about diseases.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khwaja emphasized that hospital cleanliness is of utmost importance, and the efforts of Indus Hospital & Health Network in this regard are commendable. He stated that hospital staff should be provided with protective gear to ensure their safety. He also noted that there is always room for improvement in the healthcare sector, and the administration will encourage all efforts aimed at this goal.
