میں اس افسوسناک خبر سے بے حد رنجیدہ اور دل گرفتہ ہوں: چارلی کرک کو یوٹاہ ویلی یونیورسٹی میں ایک تقریری پروگرام کے دوران قتل کر دیا گیا۔

وہ اسٹیج پر "Prove Me Wrong" ٹیبل کی میزبانی کر رہے تھے جو American Comeback Tour کا حصہ تھا۔ تقریباً 3,000 افراد کے مجمعے کے سامنے وہ گفتگو کر رہے تھے جب انہیں ایک گولی نے جا لیا۔ حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ گولی قریبی عمارت کی چھت سے چلائی گئی۔

چارلی کرک، Turning Point USA کے بانی، صرف 31 سال کے تھے۔ وہ اپنی اہلیہ اور دو ننھے بچوں کو سوگوار چھوڑ گئے ہیں۔

یہ حملہ صرف ایک شخص پر نہیں ہوا۔ یہ آزادئ اظہار، باہمی مکالمے، اور عوامی زندگی میں تحفظ پر حملہ ہے۔ اگر ہم تشدد کو جواب بننے دیں تو ہم اپنی جمہوریت کو خطرے میں ڈال دیتے ہیں۔

براہِ کرم چارلی کے اہلِ خانہ، دوستوں اور تمام چاہنے والوں کے لیے دعا میں شامل ہوں۔ ہم پر لازم ہے کہ ہم ان کے لیے — اور ایک دوسرے کے لیے — سچائی، انصاف اور امن کے عزم کا تقاضا کریں۔

پوپ پاکستان سے بھی جیتنے کے امکانات ہے (کارڈینل جوزف ،کراجی)
کسی بھی پوپ کے چلے جانے کے بعد کارڈینل اگلے پوپ کے انتخاب کے لیے حصہ لیتے ہیں۔ یہ عمل پوپ کے انتقال کے تقریباً 15 سے 20 دن بعد شروع ہوتا ہے۔

کونکلیو میں شامل ہونے کے لیے، کارڈینلز کی عمر 80 سال سے کم ہونی چاہیے۔ 21 جولائی 1945 کو پیدا ہونے والے پاکستان کے دوسرے کارڈینل، جوزف کوٹس، کی عمر اس وقت 80 سال سے تین ماہ کم ہے اور وہ کونکلیو کے لیے اہل ہیں۔ وہ اس انتخاب کا حصہ ہوں گے، جس میں دنیا بھر سے 138 کارڈینل شامل ہیں۔

یہ مشاہدہ کیا گیا ہے کہ عام طور پر ایسے انتخابات میں یورپ کے کارڈینل جیتتے ہیں۔ لیکن پھر پوپ فرانسس بھی تھے جو پہلے لاطینی امریکی پوپ تھے۔ اگر پاکستان کے کارڈینل کوٹس یہ انتخاب جیت جاتے ہیں، تو وہ جنوبی ایشیا کے پہلے پوپ ہوں گے۔

After the passing of any Pope, Cardinals participate in the election of the next Pope. This process begins approximately 15 to 20 days after the Pope's death.

To be included in the conclave, Cardinals must be under 80 years of age. Cardinal Joseph Coutts, the second Cardinal from Pakistan, born on July 21, 1945, is currently three months short of 80 years old and is eligible for the conclave. He will be part of this election, which includes 138 Cardinals from around the world.

It has been observed that generally, Cardinals from Europe win in such elections. However, then there was Pope Francis, who was the first Latin American Pope. If Cardinal Coutts from Pakistan wins this election, he would be the first Pope from South Asia."
