*Seminar on Bleeding Disorder & Hemophilia Management, Quetta*
A seminar titled “Bleeding Disorders and Hemophilia Management” was organized by the Hemophilia Welfare Society Balochistan at the PGMI Hall, Civil Hospital Quetta, with the support of the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and the Pakistan Hemophilia Foundation. The event was attended by distinguished doctors, paramedical staff, students, hemophilia patients, and their parents.
The seminar began with a comprehensive presentation delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Qayyum Khan, Director of HTC and a renowned hematologist. He highlighted the complexities of hemophilia, its management, and the significant advantages of modern treatments, especially the injection Hemlibra. He termed the Government of Balochistan’s initiative a milestone for patients and emphasized the importance of sustaining this support.
Assistant Assistant Professor Dr. Qayyum Khan also delivered a detailed slide presentation focusing on modern diagnostic approaches, updated treatment guidelines, and essential strategies for the timely care of patients with bleeding disorders. His presentation greatly enhanced the participants’ understanding and clinical awareness.
Following this, Ms. Ghazala Manzoor, General Secretary of the Hemophilia Welfare Society Balochistan, presented a detailed slideshow covering treatment cases, successful surgeries, and the follow-up system. She also shared valuable insights on rare bleeding disorders, the society’s achievements, and existing challenges.
The seminar was honored by the presence of Additional Secretary Health Mr. Saqib and Deputy Secretary Health Mr. Riyāsat, who appreciated the society’s efforts. They announced that the MOU between the Hemophilia Welfare Society Balochistan and the Health Department had been finalized, under which the government will provide 50% support for the program.
The CEO of Children’s Hospital Quetta, Professor Dr. Habibullah Babar, praised the dedication and hard work of Ms. Ghazala Manzoor, acknowledging her as a central pillar behind the society’s success. He also announced the provision of a larger space within the hospital for the society’s operations.
Furthermore, Professor Dr. Shumail Mandokhail gave an informative presentation on bleeding disorders in women and girls, while Assistant Professor Dr. Attaullah Bizenjo shared a case presentation on Factor VII deficiency. Dr. Gul Tareen and several other experts also spoke on various aspects of bleeding disorders.
Representatives from WHO Director including Asfandyar Sherani, along with Neurosurgeon Professor Dr. Asghar Babar, Professor Dr. Manzoor, Professor Dr Hanif mengal, Dr. Shafi Muhammad, and many other senior doctors were also present.
During the closing session, hemophilia patients and their families, including Mr Ali Baloch, Mr Muhammad Javed, the mother of Muhammad Anees, Abdul Rehman, and Muhammad Yaqoob, requested through the media that the Government of Balochistan continue supporting the Hemophilia Welfare Society Balochistan so that this noble mission can remain sustainable.
The event concluded with the distribution of shields among participants, doctors, paramedical staff, parents, and patients, followed by lunch for all guests.
سیمینار برائے بلیڈنگ ڈس آرڈرز اور ہیموفیلیا مینجمنٹ، کوئٹہ
“Bleeding Disorders and Hemophilia Management” کے عنوان سے ایک سیمینار ہیموفیلیا ویلفیئر سوسائٹی بلوچستان کی جانب سے PGMI ہال، سول ہسپتال کوئٹہ میں منعقد کیا گیا، جسے ورلڈ فیڈریشن آف ہیموفیلیا (WFH) اور پاکستان ہیموفیلیا فاؤنڈیشن کا تعاون حاصل تھا۔ اس پروگرام میں نامور ڈاکٹرز، پیرا میڈیکل اسٹاف، طلبہ، ہیموفیلیا کے مریضوں اور ان کے والدین نے شرکت کی۔
سیمینار کا آغاز اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر قیوم خان، ڈائریکٹر HTC اور معروف ہیمیٹولوجسٹ کی جامع پریزنٹیشن سے ہوا۔ انہوں نے ہیموفیلیا کی پیچیدگیوں، اس کے علاج کے طریقہ کار اور جدید علاج، خصوصاً انجیکشن Hemlibra کے بے شمار فوائد پر روشنی ڈالی۔ انہوں نے حکومت بلوچستان کے اس اقدام کو مریضوں کے لیے سنگِ میل قرار دیا اور اس سہولت کے تسلسل کی اہمیت پر زور دیا۔
اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر قیوم خان نے جدید تشخیصی طریقہ کار، اپ ڈیٹڈ علاج کی رہنمائی اور بلیڈنگ ڈس آرڈرز کے مریضوں کی بروقت دیکھ بھال کے اہم نکات پر مشتمل سلائیڈ پریزنٹیشن بھی پیش کی، جس نے شرکاء کی کلینیکل سمجھ اور آگاہی میں اضافہ کیا۔
اس کے بعد، ہیموفیلیا ویلفیئر سوسائٹی بلوچستان کی جنرل سیکرٹری محترمہ غزالہ منظور نے ایک تفصیلی سلائیڈ پریزنٹیشن پیش کی، جس میں علاج کے کیسز، کامیاب سرجریز اور فالو اپ سسٹم کو شامل کیا گیا۔ انہوں نے نایاب بلیڈنگ ڈس آرڈرز، سوسائٹی کی کامیابیوں اور درپیش چیلنجز پر بھی قیمتی معلومات فراہم کیں۔
اس سیمینار کی خاص بات ایڈیشنل سیکرٹری ہیلتھ جناب ثاقب اور ڈپٹی سیکرٹری ہیلتھ جناب ریاست کی شرکت تھی، جنہوں نے سوسائٹی کی خدمات کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے اعلان کیا کہ ہیموفیلیا ویلفیئر سوسائٹی بلوچستان اور محکمہ صحت کے درمیان ایم او یو حتمی مرحلے میں داخل ہو چکا ہے، جس کے تحت حکومت پروگرام کے لیے 50% تعاون فراہم کرے گی۔
چلڈرن ہسپتال کوئٹہ کے سی ای او پروفیسر ڈاکٹر حبیب اللہ بابر نے محترمہ غزالہ منظور کی محنت اور لگن کی تعریف کی اور انہیں سوسائٹی کی کامیابی کا مرکزی ستون قرار دیا۔ انہوں نے ہسپتال کے اندر سوسائٹی کے لیے مزید وسیع جگہ کی فراہمی کا بھی اعلان کیا۔
مزید برآں، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شمائل مندوخیل نے خواتین اور بچیوں میں بلیڈنگ ڈس آرڈرز پر معلوماتی پریزنٹیشن دی، جبکہ اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عطا اللہ بزنجو نے فیکٹر VII کی کمی کے ایک کیس پر تفصیلی پریزنٹیشن پیش کی۔ ڈاکٹر گل ترین سمیت کئی دیگر ماہرین نے بھی بلیڈنگ ڈس آرڈرز کے مختلف پہلوؤں پر روشنی ڈالی۔
نمائندگانِ عالمی ادارۂ صحت (WHO) بشمول اسفندیار شیرانی، نیورو سرجن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اصغر بابر، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر منظور، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر حنیف منگل، ڈاکٹر شفیع محمد اور کئی دوسرے سینئر ڈاکٹرز نے بھی اس پروگرام میں شرکت کی۔
اختتامی سیشن کے دوران ہیموفیلیا کے مریضوں اور ان کے اہل خانہ، جن میں علی بلوچ، محمد جاوید، محمد انیس کی والدہ، عبد الرحمن اور محمد یعقوب شامل تھے، نے میڈیا کے ذریعے حکومت بلوچستان سے اپیل کی کہ وہ ہیموفیلیا ویلفیئر سوسائٹی بلوچستان کی مسلسل مدد جاری رکھے تاکہ اس عظیم مشن کا تسلسل برقرار رہ سکے۔
تقریب کے اختتام پر شرکاء، ڈاکٹرز، پیرا میڈیکل اسٹاف، والدین اور مریضوں میں شیلڈز تقسیم کی گئیں، جس کے بعد مہمانوں کے لیے ظہرانے کا اہتمام کیا گیا۔
