Today, a session on economic development was successfully held at GDA Gwadar, organized by a Youth Organization with the technical and financial support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The session was moderated by Mr. Zubair Hoath, Project Manager, who guided the proceedings and facilitated constructive dialogue among stakeholders.
The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Gwadar, Dr. Shakoor, who emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination and community engagement for achieving sustainable and inclusive economic development in the district.
Officials from various departments and institutions participated in the session, including representatives from the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), Gwadar Industrial Estates Development Authority (GIEDA), Education Department, Fisheries Department, Chamber of Commerce, Vocational Training Center (VTC) Gwadar, Gwadar Institute of Technology (GIT) Gwadar, and the Irrigation Department. Community members also attended and actively participated in the discussions.
The session focused on identifying livelihood opportunities, enhancing skills development, improving access to education and vocational training, and strengthening economic participation of local communities. Participants exchanged views on employment generation, fisheries development, industrial growth, education, and sustainable utilization of local resources.
The session concluded with closing remarks by Ms. Sanna Durrani, who appreciated the engagement of all stakeholders and reaffirmed UNDP’s commitment to supporting youth-led, education-focused, and community-driven economic development initiatives in Gwadar.
Overall, the session served as an effective platform for dialogue, collaboration, and collective planning aimed at promoting inclusive economic growth and improving livelihoods in the region
