BPA cabinet members visited Balochistan Institute of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences - BIPBS today for a productive meeting with the administration. Discussions were held regarding the MHPSS project and future professional opportunities for psychologists across Balochistan. The Executive Director kindly presented BPA with the official mhGAP Humanitarian Intervention Guide as a resource. We look forward to a strong and continuing collaboration.

BPA at Guftugu Quetta:

On May 5, 2026, the Balochistan Psychologists’ Association played a central role in "Guftugu Quetta," a high-level stakeholder dialogue held at the Quetta Press Club, Organized by Code for Pakistan and AID Balochistan, the event focused on the province's education crisis and EdTech integration.

Event Highlights:

• Expert Facilitation: Haji Mir Behram Lehri (member of BPA) moderated the session, leading 70+ stakeholders from government, academia, and civil society toward action-oriented solutions.

•BPA Advocacy: President BPA Ms. Ambreen Yusuf shared insightful views on the human side of education, alongside active participation from our BPA members Mr. Sajjad Ahmad and Mr. Mirwais.

•Mental Health Milestone: One of the key recommendation of the dialogue was the mandatory appointment of School Psychologists and Counselors to support school children in Balochistan.

• Future Vision: Participants agreed that technology must foster creativity and help bridge the gap in educational delivery.

This dialogue marks a significant step in ensuring that educational reform in Balochistan is supported by psychological expertise.

The Balochistan Psychological Association (BPA) was honored to attend the inauguration of Azm-e-Nau, a new drug rehabilitation and counseling center dedicated to the treatment of addiction.

Key Highlights of the Event:

• BPA Representation: Vice President Mr. Muhammad Rasool and Finance Secretary Ms. Khadeeja Ali attended the ceremony to show solidarity.

• Vice President’s Message: During the session, the BPA Vice President expressed full support for the initiative, highlighting that more specialized centers like Azm-e-Nau are needed across Balochistan to provide proper therapies and counseling.

• BPA’s Commitment: We have pledged that BPA will always stand with such centers, providing psychologists, social workers, and counseling support whenever required.

• Special Recognition: A huge appreciation to Mr. Sikandar Ali for his dedicated efforts.

BPA remains committed to improving mental health and addiction recovery services across the province.

We are proud to share that two of our distinguished BPA members, Ms. Naghma and Ms. Mudassira, were recently invited as guest speakers at Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools and Colleges, Quetta.

Ms. Naghma led an insightful session on Mental Awareness and Emotional Well-being, and Ms. Mudassira conducted a highly engaging workshop on Effective Communication with Children.

BPA Cabinet Meeting Highlights 29-03-2026

Our cabinet met today to discuss critical strategic steps for our association during these challenging times. Here are few takeaways:

1. Advocacy & Collaboration: In light of the ongoing sensitive security situation and the current smart lockdown in Pakistan, the BPA is prioritizing coordination with:
* Government Authorities
* Law Enforcement Agencies
* Rehabilitation Centers
Our goal is to formally offer the expertise of our members.

2. BPA Identity Cards: We are officially in the process of designing and issuing BPA ID Cards for all registered members. These will serve as formal recognition of your professional standing within the association.

3. BPA Office: The search for BPA Office is underway.

4. PPA Integration: We are contacting the Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA) to formalize our role and integrate as the Balochistan Chapter.

On 10th February 2026, we had a productive meeting with Mr. Naveed Ahmad, Director Planning & Coordination at Provincial Disaster Management Authority - PDMA Balochistan to discuss strengthening mental health and GBV services in Balochistan, addressing the issue of fake degree holders in NGOs/INGOs, and prioritizing qualified local psychologists.

He appreciated Balochistan Psychologists' Association -BPA’s vision and affirmed that psychologists will be included in future meetings recognizing our crucial role in helping individuals cope with shock and navigate programs effectively and assured his full support.

We sincerely thank Mr. Naveed Ahmad for his genuine support, leadership, and commitment to empowering local professionals and strengthening mental health services in the province.
