🔗 Integrated Coordination for a Stronger Humanitarian Response: A Collective Effort by Stakeholder Organizations 🤝🏛️👥

On July 3rd, 2025, the Urban Cohesion Hub (UCH) Quetta, under the project by -Pakistan, hosted a multi-stakeholder coordination meeting with UNHCR, IOM, Commissionerate Afghan Refugees Balochistan, DANISH, BRSP, ICRMS-BUITEMS, SEHER, and Taraqee Foundation. Key updates were shared on the 2nd phase of , including expected government decisions and its projected impact on Afghan refugees, especially women and children in urban Quetta and surrounding districts.

The dialogue reaffirmed collective commitments to enhance service delivery through formal referral pathways and stronger coordination in protection, health, education, livelihoods, GBV, and MHPSS. This collaboration reflects a shared vision for a more cohesive and impactful humanitarian ecosystem.

🌟 From Hazardous Street Labour to Heartfelt Smiles: A Day of Joy for -Working Children 🌟
Today, 85 street-working children from both host and refugee communities in urban quetta enjoyed a vibrant day filled with fun, friendship, and freedom! 🎉

Organized by Urban Cohesion Hub under ’s (Building Bridges for Social Cohesion) project, the event gave children a safe space to play, connect, and just be kids, something they deeply deserve.

From running games to shared laughter, this day wasn’t just recreational, it was a step toward healing, hope, and social inclusion. 💛

WESS had the pleasure of hosting a distinguished GIZ delegation led by Mr. Jurgen Wintermeier and Mr. Hashim Khan on June 16, 2025, at the Urban Cohesion Hub (UCH) in Quetta.

Job Opportunity at Water, Environment and Sanitation Society (WESS).

Job Description:
1. Provide comprehensive medical consultations, diagnosis, and treatment to patients, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and standards of care.
2. Conduct regular health assessments, screenings, and preventive health services to promote early detection and management of health conditions.
3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community stakeholders to ensure holistic and coordinated care for patients, including referrals to specialized services as needed.
4. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all patient consultations, in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
5. Participate in health promotion and education activities within the community, addressing prevalent health issues and promoting healthy behaviors.
6. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and community members, providing clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive measures.
7. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse beliefs and practices, adapting communication and care strategies to meet the needs of patients from different backgrounds.
8. Speak the common local languages of the Quetta and Chaman districts fluently during patient interactions and documentation to ensure effective communication and understanding.
9. Provide essential information for the reporting and documentation of healthcare activities, including patient demographics, diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes.
10. Engage in continuous professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and stay updated on best practices in primary healthcare.

Qualifications & skills:
-MBBS Degree (Mandatory)
-Valid Medical Registration
-Strong Diagnostic Skills & Hands on Experience with Ultrasound & Other Diagnostic Tools.
-Strong Interpersonal & Communication Skills
-Fluency in Pashto, Urdu & English with Working Knowledge of Additional Local Languages is preferred
-Experience in Maternal Child & General Healthcare
-Knowledge of Nutritional Counselling & Community Outreach
-Ability to Maintain Confidentiality & Work with Diverse Population
