Abu Turab Foundation is a registered NGO working towards the social welfare of our society by helping people combat poverty, hunger, social injustice & by educating individuals so that they can create value for our society in the future with the best use of all the available resources at hand. The foundation is created to honor the life & the tragic death of Haider Ali (Abu Turab) Born March 1982
- Died July 2013. His life was an inspiration for all who knew him; the foundation is created to honor his legacy. The foundation is funded by donations from around the world. All the donations that are collected are directly spent on the deserving. This means that no foundation member is allowed to draw any salary or benefits from the foundation. Operations:
The major source of income for the charity is public donations. Any sort of donations from the public and commercial organizations are welcomed in the foundation, they include; monetary donations, fresh or packaged food, fresh water, new/used clothing, books, toys etc. All the donations are accounted for in the income statements for the period, and a copy of the income statement can be provided according to stakeholder requirements. The organization uses strict procedures to screen out the people that need help. There is a background check to ensure that the donations are going to the people who actually deserve charity. The background check includes; verification of original national identity cards, a visit to their work place if they are working & the verification of the number of members in their family. Operations include monthly food packages for the needy families. Dowry (Jahez) packages for brides who cannot afford the burden of marriage. Sponsorship programs for schooling of children who cannot afford the tuition fees. Rehabilitation of the affected people in areas of natural disaster (Earthquakes, flood etc.). Providing adequate clothing to people especially in winters.
