The AKI team visited the NICU Department at Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar for learning, clinical exposure, and professional development. It was an insightful experience, made even more valuable through an interactive discussion with Dr. Ibrahim bin Afsar Jan, Consultant Neonatal Department. Visits like these strengthen our understanding and commitment to improving care for children through continuous learning and collaboration.

Akbar Kare Institute is pleased to share that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with CECOS University of IT and Emerging Sciences, Peshawar to strengthen collaboration in clinical education and healthcare services.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan, Vice Chancellor, CECOS University, and Dr. Salim Khan (PT), Clinical Lead, Akbar Kare Institute, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Fazal Subhan, Dean Allied Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Zia Ullah Shah, HoD Allied Health Sciences, Mr. Abdul Hanan, Director ORIC, and Dr. Nazneen Qureshi, Lecturer AHS. Representing AKI at the ceremony were Ms. Sauda Imtiaz, Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Saadia Ahmad, Head of Department, Mr. Shahid Ali, Admin Manager, and Mr. Yahya Khan, HR Manager.

Under this partnership, AKI will provide structured clinical placement opportunities for DPT students of CECOS University, enabling them to gain hands-on experience in pediatric rehabilitation and the management of neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly cerebral palsy.

The Vice Chancellor and his team appreciated the valuable services and contributions of AKI for the local community and expressed pride in collaborating with organizations that are creating meaningful impact in society.

Following the ceremony, Dr. Salim Khan guided the guests on a visit to the institute, where they were introduced to the different sections and facilities of AKI.

We look forward to a meaningful and impactful collaboration ahead.

We were honored to welcome Mr. Babker El Sheikh, Deputy Health Coordinator, ICRC Sub Delegation Peshawar, and his team to Akbar Kare Institute.

The visit provided an important opportunity to discuss continued coordination, mutual support, and the way forward in strengthening services for children with disabilities. ICRC has remained a valued long-standing partner of AKI, and their support has played a meaningful role in helping us provide free, quality care to children with special needs and their families.

We deeply appreciate this partnership and look forward to working together to create even greater impact.

On 16th March, in a beautiful act of compassion and solidarity, IDRF, in collaboration with Akbar Kare Institute, distributed ration packs to 200+ families of children with disabilities at AKI.

This initiative was more than just food support. It was a reminder that these families are seen, valued, and not alone in their journey.

At AKI, we believe that true care goes beyond therapy sessions. It means standing with families, especially in moments that matter the most.

We are deeply grateful to IDRF for their generosity and commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our children and their families.
